Die Kristallstruktur von (+)- und (−)-Ru[C6H5(CH3)PCH2CH2,P(C6H5)CH3],Cl2

Abstract

The chiral isomers of di[ethylene-l,2-bis(methylphenylphosphme)]ruthenium(II)-chloride crystallize in the space group I4 with a = 22.14 Å, c = 14.00 Å and Z = 8. The structure has been determined by x-ray diffraction methods and was refined to an R value of 6.6%. The absolute configuration has been established by measuring a suitable collection of Friedel pairs. The complex molecules have almost the symmetry 222, and are situated with respect to the c axis in such a way, that the structure is nearly nonpolar. The absolute configurations of the asymmetric P-Atoms is R in the (+)-isomer and S in the (−)-isomer.
