Body, Breath and Representation in Śaiva Tantrism

Abstract
This paper examines the idea of the subtle body as described in chapter 7 of the Netra Tantra. It shows how the body is understood as a symbolic system for mapping the cosmos and human beings place within it and examines the relationship between symbolic system and lived body.
