Occasional changes in the Editorial and Advisory Board Membership of a journal and its production strategy are both inevitable as it evolves over time. Radiochimica Acta has seen changes in both respects in recent months.
One of our senior Co-editors, Prof. Dr. Jens Volker Kratz, stepped down after nominating Prof. Dr. Christoph E. Düllmann as his successor. We would like to express our deep appreciation to Prof. Kratz for his outstanding services to this journal over a period of 24 years and especially for his thorough, yet pragmatic, approach in making editorial decisions. We wish him all the best and warmly welcome Prof. Düllmann to the Board of Editors.
Among the Advisory Board Members, Prof. Dr. Susan Parry and Prof. Dr. Andreas Türler have also stepped down and have been replaced by Prof. Dr. Bernd Neumaier and Dr. Robert Eichler.
We thank the outgoing Advisors for their occasional counsel and helpful cooperation in reviewing the manuscripts. At the same time we welcome the new advisors as team members.
The change in production strategy was not necessarily governed by economic consideration, but as part of a continual attempt to streamline, consolidate and unify the typesetting style of all journals published by De Gruyter. It has also been designed to speed up the time it takes for papers to be published – something that is increasingly important to our authors.
The change took place at the start of 2020 and the present issue of the journal consequently contains a few articles in the old typesetting style and others in the new format. We hope that our readers will understand during this short transition period. Future issues will be set according to the new system.
The Editors and the Publisher of Radiochimica Acta are investing continual effort and resources to bring the latest information on all aspects of radiochemistry research to our readers as fast as possible. When delays occur, this is often due to the great emphasis we place on careful peer-reviewing of manuscripts and verification of the authenticity of the published work. We are proud to be able to say that the Cited Half Life (CHF) of articles published in our journal is among the highest of all related scientific journals. We hope to continue to serve our research community and readers in this manner in the future and thank you for your continued support.
