Editorial
Dear readers,
I was very pleased to be able to speak again yesterday to the founder of our Practical Metallography, Prof. Dr. Günter Petzow. When you read this editorial, he will have celebrated his 97th birthday on July 08. As Honorary President of the German Society for Materials Science and as a "bedrock" of metallography, his interest in what we do continues as ever - what a life balance! Unfortunately, his beloved "Mohrle" is now no longer with him and some things are naturally a little more difficult for him. But in all our names: "Dear Petz - congratulations on your 97th birthday, we wish you a reason for joy every day."
I hope you all enjoy reading the articles in this issue.
Liebe Leserinnen und Leser,
ich war sehr froh, als ich gestern den Gründer unserer Praktischen Metallographie, Prof. Dr. Günter Petzow, wieder sprechen konnte. Wenn Sie dieses Editorial lesen, wird er seinen 97. Geburtstag am 08. Juli begangen haben. Als Ehrenpräsident der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Materialkunde und als „Urgestein“ der Metallographie ist sein Interesse an unserem Tun nach wie vor ungebrochen – welch eine Lebensbilanz! Leider ist sein geliebtes „Mohrle“ nun nicht mehr bei ihm und manches fällt ihm natürlich etwas schwerer. Aber in unser aller Namen: „Lieber Petz – herzlichen Glückwunsch zu Deinem 97. Geburtstag, wir wünschen Dir jeden Tag einen Grund zur Freude.“
Ihnen allen wünsche ich mit den Beiträgen in diesem Heft wieder eine spannende Lektüre.
