Editorial
As we bring to a close Linguistics Vanguard Volume 2, we would like to take a few moments to reflect on the journal’s progress and to give thanks to everyone who has contributed to establishing Linguistics Vanguard as an innovative and dynamic new publishing venue in linguistics. The journal was launched in 2015, and 2016 represents its first full year of operation. Building on the inaugural articles and submitted contributions published in 2015, this year we are pleased to publish individual papers in diverse subareas of linguistics as well as our first special collection “Psycholinguistics and Language Variation” (identified by the keyword PsychLingVar and freely available). With several other special collections in the works and a sharp increase in submissions, we think that next year will be even more exciting.
For their contributions to the journal, we thank first and foremost our Area Editors who carry out the day-to-day editorial work and ensure that papers are reviewed in a timely manner. They have also been key to developing and framing their subareas in the journal. We also give special thanks to Julie Boland, Bhuvana Narasimhan, and Christine Dimroth for working with us to develop our inaugural special collections. We also thank all of our authors for their contributions that together bring to fruition our plan for the journal and the reviewers who have generously given their time to ensure that everything published in Linguistic Vanguard is both of very high quality and presented in an accessible way. Finally we thank all of the team at De Gruyter Mouton who have supported the development and implementation of the journal and our editorial assistants during 2016, Cara DiGirolamo and Marie-Christine Benen.
We look forward to the continued development and growth of Linguistics Vanguard and to publishing many more exciting, innovative papers in 2017.
