    Nicholas Cox received his Ph.D. (2008) in Chemistry from the Australian National University. He is Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion. His research is focused on the study of biological enzymes primarily using magnetic resonance techniques.

    Wolfgang Lubitz studied Chemistry and received his doctoral degree (1977) and habilitation (1982) at the Freie Universität Berlin. He is director at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion (Department of Biophysical Chemistry). His scientific work is focused on the investigation of metalloproteins (hydrogenases, wateroxidase), primary processes of photosynthesis, and the development and application of EPR methods.
