GAPE 2013
The 10th International Symposium on the Power of Green Energy will be held in Toruń, Poland, from Thursday May 23 to Saturday May 25, 2013, and will set out a multidisciplinary platform of people and technology for exchanging knowledge, ideas and international relations. The host of the event is Nicolaus Copernius University, Faculty of Chemistry (www.umk.pl) with the mission to promote technology transfer between industry and academia.
The Organizing Committee of the 10th International Symposium on the Power of Green Energy is still in the process of inviting more renowned speakers from Europe and the USA regions. If are you interested, we look forward to receive your application.
Main areas of interest
It is well known that the field of green energy application is oriented very broadly and plays a key role in many areas in bio-fuel technology, waste management (biogas, biomass), and in green power engineering (solar, wind, geothermal). Moreover, it is most obviously involved in creating and securing a sustainable consumption of energy, developing renewable energy sources, and in improving the worldwide protection of the natural environment.
The 10th International Symposium on the Power of Green Energy unites green chemistry, waste management, bio-fuel technology, green engineering, and applications which have evolved from renewable energy. Speakers (as well as participants) with different backgrounds will join to reflect on the multidisciplinary of the symposium theme.
Why the power of green energy?
The theme of the symposium was chosen as an answer to the developed market of renewable energy applications. Green chemistry (analysis, synthesis) and renewable energy engineering can contribute significantly to the development of innovative systems in the field of environmentally safe solvents, bio-fuel components, -geothermal, -wind, -solar energy production, heat production and so on. It also plays a crucial role in improving technology processes, throughput of energy production, emission reduction and development of new ways of green energy application, and its impact on environment, equipment, and human life.
Sustainability and the application of green energy are the main themes of the 10th International Symposium on the Power of Green Energy. The possibilities of using solar, wind and geothermal technologies in modern engineering are also one of the three sub-themes of GAPE 2013. Novel technologies need to be developed for biogas utilization and alternative materials (biomass) with the associated new processes (cracking, pyrolise). Clean energy sources for electricity production and transportation are also welcomed. Bio-fuels and bio-fuel components will be extensively developed in the next two decades and the symposium creates a unique platform for exchanging ideas and promoting new solutions and applications. Moreover, the final area of interest of the symposium is waste management, particularly “waste to energy” – waste utilization for energy purposes.
Toruń, the city of Nicolaus Copernicus
People say: “Beautiful Toruń…”… and they are right. Because here they can witness the layout of streets of Toruń Old Town, which has remained unchanged for centuries. This is one of the most beautiful panoramas in Poland, and contains the birth place of Nicolaus Copernicus, the famous son of Toruń. Toruń is known as Nicolaus Copernius City and is listed as a world heritage site which renders Toruń the most beautiful and popular city in Poland. Therefore, the venue for the 10th International Symposium on the Power of Green Energy will be Toruń.
