E. Israel Chávez Barreto (b. 1991) holds a PhD in semiotics from the University of Tartu and currently works at the Dept. of General Linguistics at Palacký University, Olomouc. His research interests include general semiotics, the history and epistemology of semiotics and linguistics, and the intersections between phonology and semiotics. He has published several articles on these topics in journals such as
