Chris Brett awarded the medal of CCS
Abstract
Prof. Christopher Brett, the president elect of IUPAC was awarded the Medal of the Czech Chemical Society on 21 April 2018. The Medal, the highest award of the CCS, is awarded to the individuals who contributed significantly to the chemical and connected sciences and who contributed to the life of the Czech chemical community and the CCS.

Prof. Brett is not only well known electrochemist but he is a long time collaborator with the Czech chemical community mainly in the way of taking part in the scientific meetings, in supporting the mobility of the Czech chemists and in supporting them in many ways. The Medal was presented to him at the European Chemistry Thematic Network (ECTN) General Assembly meeting, where he gave the invited plenary lecture that discussed the necessity of global collaboration of all chemists and scientists. He also stressed the role of IUPAC in many chemical disciplines through supporting global exchange of chemists as well as knowledge and information. He also underlined the role of IUPAC in the educational processes.
