Abstract
We study the factoriality of a double cover X4 of ℙ3 ramified along a nodal quartic surface, and we formulate a natural conjecture which would answer this problem depending on the number r, 8 ≤ r ≤ 10, of nodes of X4. We prove this conjecture when there is a nonsingular quadric surface containing all the nodes of X4.
