ABSTRACT
The short article deals with the question how many books Origens Commentary on John comprehen ded which has come down to us only in pieces (aside from books I, II, VI, X, XIII, XIX, XX, XXVIII, XXXII only in fragments). The author states that there never existed just one single codex which contained all 32 books of the commentary together, but that every single book was written and published seperately and gradually – noticable e.g. in the dedication given at the beginning of every single book. Additionally the author gives two thoughts about the text of Commentary on John II 210.
