Forty Ukrainian women between the ages of 10 and 72 have answered this question by writing letters that are now available in all their power. Heartbreaking, but also passionate, surprising, and inspiring stories about parents who desperately drive for days to get children to safety. Couples split by the war hug one last time at the border in heart-wrenching goodbyes, wondering if they will see each other again. Young women decide to fight at the front against the invaders. These are the voices of a people ready to do anything to protect freedom and democracy.

Тридцять вісім українок віком від 10 до 72 років зробили це, розповівши свої історії, які тепер декількома мовами доступні ширшому загалу. Карколомні, але водночас потужні, дивовижні та захопливі історії. Про батьків, які відчайдушно намагалися убезпечити дітей. Про пари, котрі, роз’єднані війною, востаннє обіймалися на кордоні, болісно прощаючись, і думаючи, чи побачать одне одного знову. Про молодих жінок, що вирішують воювати на фронті проти загарбників. Aurélie Bros is originally from France. Her PhD thesis in geopolitics focused on Gazprom's export strategy to Europe via Ukraine. She then taught at various universities, including Harvard University, where she led a research program on the consequences of the global energy transition in traditional oil and gas producing countries. In addition to numerous lectures, including at MIT and Université du Québec, she raised awareness among children and teens about the consequences of our energy consumption through her EcoKidsProject program. Since March 2022, she has been coordinating a HANDELSBLATT aid project that supports Ukrainian journalists, which is how she got to know the protagonists of this book.
