The Act regarding the Reform of Proceedings in Family Matters and Matters of Non-Contentious Jurisdiction (FFG-Reformgesetz), which will take effect on 1 September 2009, includes the new Family Proceedings Act (FamFG) as well as numerous reforms and changes to the law of costs relating to contentious jurisdiction. The new Act on Court Fees in Family Law Matters (FamGKG) has not only significantly altered the Cost Regulation Act but also the Court Fees Act (GKG). These changes required a restructuring of the commentary and a revision of the title. In addition, the Act on Court Fees in Family Law Matters (FamGKG) is printed and explained in the second part of this commentary. This new edition is updated through June 2009.
