Das Lehrbuch richtet sich nach den Vorlesungen »Mensch-Maschine-Interaktion« an der LMU München und ist im Gegensatz zu bestehenden MMI-Büchern explizit als kompaktes Grundlagenlehrbuch konzipiert. Zusätzlich zum Buch wird eine Website mit Bildmaterial, Foliensätzen, Verständnisfragen und Übungsaufgaben angeboten. Die dritte und aktualisierte Auflage wurde an einigen Stellen erweitert und präzisiert und enthält zudem ein neues Kapitel über Voice User Interfaces.

Andreas Butz
promovierte 1997 in Informatik an der Universität des Saarlandes. Er leitet den Lehrstuhl für Mensch-Maschine-Interaktion an der LMU München und den wissenschaftlichen Beirat des Deutschen Forschungszentrums für Künstliche Intelligenz.
Antonio Krüger
ist CEO des Deutschen Forschungszentrums für Künstliche Intelligenz GmbH und Professor für Informatik an der Universität des Saarlandes. Dort verantwortet er seit 2010 den interdisziplinären Studiengang Medieninformatik.
Sarah Theres Völkel
promoviert im Bereich Mensch-Maschine-Interaktion an der LMU München. Sie forscht zu Conversational Agents und Explainable Artificial Intelligence. Zuvor studierte sie Informatik und Technik-Kommunikation an der RWTH Aachen.
