About this book
Ludwig Feuerbach’s The Essence of Christianity is regarded as a classic work of religious criticism, but it also is part of the Young Hegelians’ critique of Hegel. This commentary covers all chapters of the book along with the history of its creation, reception, and impact. It shows that Feuerbach intended this work as a critique of theology rather than a critique of religion, and that he relied extensively on Hegel’s philosophy of religion.
