Peter Handke

Peter Handke is not only regarded as one of the most important contemporary authors of German literature, but also as one of the most controversial. In this volume, literary scholars and their colleagues undertake a critical assessment, examining the literary, aesthetic, and political waypoints, locations, and positions traversed by this writer, who was born in 1942 in Austria. The volume is based on the first Suhrkamp/Insel Research Conference that was held in February 2012 at the German Literature Archive in Marbach.
