About this book
The second volume of the three-volume edition (the first volume was published in 2008) continues the edition of the proceedings of the Seventh Ecumenical Council of 787 (Nicaenum II) which dealt with the controversy surrounding the veneration of images (Iconoclastic Controversy). In addition to an introduction which describes the transmission of the proceedings, it contains the Greek text of the 3rd and 4th sessions of the council, confronting these with the Latin translation of Anastasius Bibliothecarius in 873. The detailed critical apparatus also references source texts and parallel texts.

Reviews
"... the same high standard has been preserved, making this edition the most impressive 'volume' in ACO since the time of Eduard Schwartz. ... Lamberz's edition ... utterly surpasses the old Roman edition on which we have had to rely by supplying an accurate text that restores both the style and wording of the original ..., by providing an accurate identification of each citation ..., and by including a full apparatus that puts the reader in touch with both the manuscripts of the Acts and other related texts."

„Ein bewundernswertes opus magnum steht nun vor der Vollendung."
