With this critical edition of the Miller-Voß correspondence, one of the most important documents for the history of the ‘Göttinger Hain’ is published here in its entirety for the first time. The circle of young poets associated with the Sturm und Drang movement endeavored to undertake a renewal of poetry. The letters, written between 1774 and 1810, reflect the differences between two correspondents and their work and reveal their diverse contacts to famous contemporaries in times of historic upheaval.
