Dancers reveal how they employ affect to navigate their lives, art, and labor in this context, showcasing how affect is not only a force that acts on people but also is used and shaped by social actors toward their own ends. This slim volume offers a rich multi-sited 'ethnography of the affective worlds of fire dancers in Thailand's tourism industry' in the 2010s using 'a theory of affect that is culturally contextualized and based on fire dancers' understandings'. In doing so, it deepens and expands our understanding of the place of dance in contemporary Thailand.
