Summary
Adsorption and desorption of gold traces on glass were studied as a function of gold concentration, pH value and composition of the Solution using 198Au as indicator. The observations were explained on the basis of an ion exchange mechanism, the adsorbed species being the positively charged hydrolysed forms of gold. The influence of various complexing agents, of indifferent electrolytes and of the gold concentration on the adsorption was discussed.
