Jixian Pang is Professor of English and Applied Linguistics at College of Foreign Languages, Hangzhou City University, Hangzhou, China. He is also a professor at the School of International Studies, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. His main research and teaching interests include discourse analysis with a special emphasis on pragmatics and genre analysis, English for Specific Purposes, and EFL writing. In addition to some Chinese publications, he has published in leading international journals such as
Applied Linguistics, Journal of Pragmatics, Discourse & Society, Text & Talk, Discourse Studies, Journal of Second Language Writing, English for Specific Purposes, World Englishes, and Language in Society .
