Nancy E. Avila-Ledesma
Nancy E. Avila-Ledesma is a PhD candidate at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in the Department of English Philology. Nancy holds a BA in English Philology from Universidad de Extremadura and an MA in English Linguistics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Her research interests center on Pragmatics and Corpus Linguistics, Natural Semantic Metalanguage, Emotions, Migration Studies, Gender and Ethnicity. Her current investigation, supported by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (FPI-UAM 2014), focuses on the ethnopragmatic conceptualization of emotions in a corpus of Irish emigrants’ personal correspondence.
