Fermi-Walker derivative and biharmonic particle play an important role in skillful applications. We obtain a new characterization on binormal spherical indicatrix by using the Fermi-Walker derivative and parallelism in space. We suggest that an inextensible flow is the necessary and sufficient condition for this particle. Finally, we give some characterizations for a non-rotating frame of this binormal spherical indicatrix.

The optimal investment-consumption problem under the constant elasticity of variance (CEV) model is investigated from the perspective of Lie group analysis. The Lie symmetry group of the evolution partial differential equation describing the CEV model is derived. The Lie point symmetries are then used to obtain an exact solution of the governing model satisfying a standard terminal condition. Finally, we construct conservation laws of the underlying equation using the general theorem on conservation laws.

For an atomic system with cascade four-level type, a useful scheme about three-dimensional (3D) atom localization is proposed. In our scheme the atomic system is coherently controlled by using a radio-frequency field to couple with two-folded levels under the condition of the existence of probe absorption. Our results show that detecting precision of 3D atom localization may be obviously improved by properly adjusting the frequency detuning and strength of the radio-frequency driving field. So our scheme could be helpful to realize 3D atom localization with high-efficiency and high-precision . In the field of laser cooling or the atom nano-lithography, our studies provide potential applications.

The photonuclear reactions, first extensively studied in the 1970’s and performed using the gamma rays obtained via bremsstrahlung, are a standard nuclear physics experiment. In this study, a non-enriched Rubidium sample was irradiated with photons produced by a clinical linear electron accelerator (cLINACs) with energies up to 18 MeV with the aim of activating it through photonuclear reactions. The activated sample was measured with a high purity germanium detector (HPGe) with the aim of measuring the transition energies and half-lives. The spectroscopic analysis performed on the obtained data yielded high quality results for the transition energies with precision matching or surpassing the literature data. For the half-lives the results were consistent with the literature, most notably the half-life of 84 m Rb decay was determined as 20.28(2) m. The results for both energies and half-lives further show that the clinical linear accelerators can be successfully used as an efficient tool in experimental nuclear research endeavors.

A three-phase model capable of predicting the heat transfer and moisture migration for soil freezing process was developed based on the Shen-Chen model and the mechanisms of heat and mass transfer in unsaturated soil freezing. The pre-melted film was taken into consideration, and the relationship between film thickness and soil temperature was used to calculate the liquid water fraction in both frozen zone and freezing fringe. The force that causes the moisture migration was calculated by the sum of several interactive forces and the suction in the pre-melted film was regarded as an interactive force between ice and water. Two kinds of resistance were regarded as a kind of body force related to the water films between the ice grains and soil grains, and a block force instead of gravity was introduced to keep balance with gravity before soil freezing. Lattice Boltzmann method was used in the simulation, and the input variables for the simulation included the size of computational domain, obstacle fraction, liquid water fraction, air fraction and soil porosity. The model is capable of predicting the water content distribution along soil depth and variations in water content and temperature during soil freezing process.

This study aims to validate the three-phase heat and mass transfer model developed in the first part (Three phase heat and mass transfer model for unsaturated soil freezing process: Part 1 - model development). Experimental results from studies and experiments were used for the validation. The results showed that the correlation coefficients for the simulated and experimental water contents at different soil depths were between 0.83 and 0.92. The correlation coefficients for the simulated and experimental liquid water contents at different soil temperatures were between 0.95 and 0.99. With these high accuracies, the developed model can be well used to predict the water contents at different soil depths and temperatures.

In the present research a simplified mathematical model for the solar thermal collectors is considered in the form of non-uniform unsteady stretching surface. The non-Newtonian Maxwell nanofluid model is utilized for the working fluid along with slip and convective boundary conditions and comprehensive analysis of entropy generation in the system is also observed. The effect of thermal radiation and variable thermal conductivity are also included in the present model. The mathematical formulation is carried out through a boundary layer approach and the numerical computations are carried out for Cu -water and TiO 2 -water nanofluids. Results are presented for the velocity, temperature and entropy generation profiles, skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number. The discussion is concluded on the effect of various governing parameters on the motion, temperature variation, entropy generation, velocity gradient and the rate of heat transfer at the boundary.

In this paper, homotopy analysis method (HAM) and variational iteration method (VIM) are utilized to derive the approximate solutions of the Tricomi equation. Afterwards, the HAM is optimized to accelerate the convergence of the series solution by minimizing its square residual error at any order of the approximation. It is found that effect of the optimal values of auxiliary parameter on the convergence of the series solution is not negligible. Furthermore, the present results are found to agree well with those obtained through a closed-form equation available in the literature. To conclude, it is seen that the two are effective to achieve the solution of the partial differential equations.

The rooted maps theory, a branch of the theory of homology, is shown to be a powerful tool for investigating the topological properties of Feynman diagrams, related to the single particle propagator in the quantum many-body systems. The numerical correspondence between the number of this class of Feynman diagrams as a function of perturbative order and the number of rooted maps as a function of the number of edges is studied. A graphical procedure to associate Feynman diagrams and rooted maps is then stated. Finally, starting from rooted maps principles, an original definition of the genus of a Feynman diagram, which totally differs from the usual one, is given.

In this paper, a new type of synchronization for chaotic (hyperchaotic) maps with different dimensions is proposed. The novel scheme is called F – M synchronization, since it combines the inverse generalized synchronization (based on a functional relationship F ) with the matrix projective synchronization (based on a matrix M ). In particular, the proposed approach enables F – M synchronization with index d to be achieved between n -dimensional drive system map and m -dimensional response system map, where the synchronization index d corresponds to the dimension of the synchronization error. The technique, which exploits nonlinear controllers and Lyapunov stability theory, proves to be effective in achieving the F – M synchronization not only when the synchronization index d equals n or m , but even if the synchronization index d is larger than the map dimensions n and m . Finally, simulation results are reported, with the aim to illustrate the capabilities of the novel scheme proposed herein.

In this paper exact solutions corresponding to the rotational flow of a fractional Oldroyd-B fluid, in an annulus, are determined by applying integral transforms. The fluid starts moving after t = 0 + when pipes start rotating about their axis. The final solutions are presented in the form of usual Bessel and hypergeometric functions, true for initial and boundary conditions. The limiting cases for the solutions for ordinary Oldroyd-B, fractional Maxwell and Maxwell and Newtonian fluids are obtained. Moreover, the solution is obtained for the fluid when one pipe is rotating and the other one is at rest. At the end of this paper some characteristics of fluid motion, the effect of the physical parameters on the flow and a correlation between different fluid models are discussed. Finally, graphical representations confirm the above affirmation.

New additional conditions required for the uniqueness of the 2D elastostatic problems formulated in terms of potential functions for the derived Papkovich-Neuber representations, are studied. Two cases are considered, each of them formulated by the scalar potential function plus one of the rectangular non-zero components of the vector potential function. For these formulations, in addition to the original (physical) boundary conditions, two new additional conditions are required. In addition, for the complete Papkovich-Neuber formulation, expressed by the scalar potential plus two components of the vector potential, the additional conditions established previously for the three-dimensional case in z-convex domain can be applied. To show the usefulness of these new conditions in a numerical scheme two applications are numerically solved by the network method for the three cases of potential formulations.

In this paper, we study a (2+1) dimensional KdV-mKdV equation, which models many physical phenomena of mathematical physics. This equation has two integral terms in it. By an appropriate substitution, we convert this equation into two partial differential equations, which do not have integral terms and are equivalent to the original equation. We then work with the system of two equations and obtain its exact travelling wave solutions in form of Jacobi elliptic functions. Furthermore, we employ the multiplier method to construct conservation laws for the system. Finally, we revert the results obtained into the original variables of the (2+1) dimensional KdV-mKdV equation.

The aim of this article is to construct some new traveling wave solutions and investigate localized structures for fourth-order nonlinear Ablowitz-Kaup-Newell-Segur (AKNS) water wave dynamical equation. The simple equation method (SEM) and the modified simple equation method (MSEM) are applied in this paper to construct the analytical traveling wave solutions of AKNS equation. The different waves solutions are derived by assigning special values to the parameters. The obtained results have their importance in the field of physics and other areas of applied sciences. All the solutions are also graphically represented. The constructed results are often helpful for studying several new localized structures and the waves interaction in the high-dimensional models.

Several classes of transcendental equations, mainly eigenvalue equations associated to non-relativistic quantum mechanical problems, are analyzed. Siewert’s systematic approach of such equations is discussed from the perspective of the new results recently obtained in the theory of generalized Lambert functions and of algebraic approximations of various special or elementary functions. Combining exact and approximate analytical methods, quite precise analytical outputs are obtained for apparently untractable problems. The results can be applied in quantum and classical mechanics, magnetism, elasticity, solar energy conversion, etc.

We numerically investigate a mixed convection model for a magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) Jeffery fluid flowing over an exponentially stretching sheet. The influence of thermal radiation and chemical reaction is also considered in this study. The governing non-linear coupled partial differential equations are reduced to a set of coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations by using similarity functions. This new set of ordinary differential equations are solved numerically using the Spectral Quasi-Linearization Method. A parametric study of physical parameters involved in this study is carried out and displayed in tabular and graphical forms. It is observed that the velocity is enhanced with increasing values of the Deborah number, buoyancy and thermal radiation parameters. Furthermore, the temperature and species concentration are decreasing functions of the Deborah number. The skin friction coefficient increases with increasing values of the magnetic parameter and relaxation time. Heat and mass transfer rates increase with increasing values of the Deborah number and buoyancy parameters.

This paper proposes a new three-dimensional chaotic flow with one stable equilibrium. Dynamical properties of this system are investigated. The system has a chaotic attractor coexisting with a stable equilibrium. Thus the chaotic attractor is hidden. Basin of attractions shows the tangle of different attractors. Also, some complexity measures of the system such as Lyapunov exponent and entropy will are analyzed. We show that the Kolmogorov-Sinai Entropy shows more accurate results in comparison with Shanon Entropy.

Dynamics of a dry-rebounding drop was studied experimentally, numerically, and theoretically. Experimental results were reproduced by our computational fluid dynamics simulations, from which time series of kinetic energy, potential energy, and surface energy were obtained. The time series of these energies quantitatively clarified the energy conversion and loss during the dry-rebound. These results were interpreted by using an imaginary spring model and a spherical harmonic analysis. The spring model explained the vertical deformation of the drop, however, could not completely explain the energy loss; the timings of the energy loss did not match. From a viewpoint of the spherical harmonic deformation of a drop, the deformation of the drop after the impact was found to be a combination of two vibrational motions. One of the two vibrational motions is an inertial motion derived from the free-fall and the another is a pressure-induced motion derived from a pressure surge due to the sudden stop of the bottom part of the drop at the impact. The existence of the pressure surge at the impact was confirmed in the simulated results. The pressure-induced motion resists the inertial motion and consequently dumps the kinetic energy of the drop.

The initial mechanical response and yielding behavior of gelled crude oil under constant shear rate conditions were investigated. By putting the Maxwell mechanical analog and a special dashpot in parallel, a quasi-Jeffreys model was obtained. The kinetic equation of the structural parameter in the Houska model was simplified reasonably so that a simplified constitutive equation of the special dashpot was expressed. By introducing a damage factor into the constitutive equation of the special dashpot and the Maxwell mechanical analog, we established a constitutive equation of the quasi-Jeffreys model. Rheological tests of gelled crude oil were conducted by imposing constant shear rates and the relationship between the shear stress and shear strain under different shear rates was plotted. It is found that the constitutive equation can fit the experimental data well under a wide range of shear rates. Based on the fitted parameters in the quasi-Jeffreys model, the shear stress changing rules of the Maxwell mechanical analog and the special dashpot were calculated and analyzed. It is found that the critical yield strain and the corresponding shear strain where shear stress of the Maxwell analog is the maximum change slightly under different shear rates. And then a critical damage softening strain which is irrelevant to the shearing conditions was put forward to describe the yielding behavior of gelled crude oil.

In this work, Lie symmetry analysis for the time fractional simplified modified Kawahara (SMK) equation with Riemann-Liouville (RL) derivative, is analyzed. We transform the time fractional SMK equation to nonlinear ordinary differential equation (ODE) of fractional order using its Lie point symmetries with a new dependent variable. In the reduced equation, the derivative is in the Erdelyi-Kober (EK) sense. We solve the reduced fractional ODE using a power series technique. Using Ibragimov’s nonlocal conservation method to time fractional partial differential equations, we compute conservation laws (Cls) for the time fractional SMK equation. Some figures of the obtained explicit solution are presented.

The present paper investigates the solitary wave solutions of the nonlinear evolution equations with power nonlinearties. The study has been carried out for two examples of KdV-type equations, namely, the nonlinear dispersive equation and the generalised KdV equation. To achieve our goal, we have applied the projective Riccati equation method. As a result, many exact solutions in the form of solitary wave solutions and combined formal solitary wave solutions are obtained

The flow control and optimization system based on industrial tomography is presented in this publication. Multiphase flow measurement technologies are still being built and improved. There is a clear tendency in the industry to implement more optimally related functions with an emphasis on active inspection and monitoring. Control methods include issues related to the processing of data obtained from various sensors located in nodes. Monitoring takes place within the scope of acquired and processed data and parameter automation. The main purpose of this work is to design a system for data acquisition and analysis by image reconstruction for various tomographic methods (resistive, capacitive, ultrasonic). The practical application of ultrasonic flow measurement to study gas emissions in the heat and power station chimney is presented

Reconstructing a time series into a complex network can help uncover the dynamic information hidden in the time series. Previous studies mainly focused on the long-term relationship between two energy prices, and traditional econometric methods poorly reflect the evolution of correlations among variables from a short-term perspective. Thus, first, we divide natural gas, coal and crude oil price time series into a series of segments via a set of temporal sliding windows and then calculate the correlation coefficients for each pair of energy prices in each segment. Second, we define the correlation modes based on the correlation coefficients and a coarse graining process. Third, we reconstruct the time series into a complex network to assess the evolution dynamics of the correlations among energy prices. The results show that a few major correlation modes and transmission patterns play important roles in the evolution. The evolution of the correlation modes among energy prices exhibits a significant cluster effect. Approximately 30 days is a turning point at which one type of cluster transforms into another type. Then, we improve the betweenness centrality algorithm to measure the media capability of the correlation mode in the evolution process of different clusters. Based on the transmission probabilities between clusters, we can determine the evolution direction of the correlation modes based on energy prices. These results are useful for monitoring fluctuations in energy prices and making decisions for risk avoidance.

Searching based testing case generation technology converts the problem of testing case generation to function optimizations, through a fitness function, which is usually optimized using heuristic search algorithms. The particle swarm optimization (PSO) optimized testing case generation algorithm tends to lose population diversity of locally optimal solutions with low accuracy of local search. To overcome the above defects, a self-adaptive PSO based software testing case optimization algorithm is proposed. It adjusts the inertia weight dynamically according to the current iteration and average relative speed, to improve the performance of standard PSO. An improved alternating variable method is put forward to accelerate local search speed, which can coordinate both global and local search ability thereby improving the overall generation efficiency of testing cases. The experimental results demonstrate that the approach outlined here keeps higher testing case generation efficiency, and it shows certain advantages in coverage, evolution generation amount and running time when compared to standard PSO and GA-PSO.

In this article, the generalized shallow water wave (GSWW) equation is studied from the perspective of one dimensional optimal systems and their conservation laws (Cls). Some reduction and a new exact solution are obtained from known solutions to one dimensional optimal systems. Some of the solutions obtained involve expressions with Bessel function and Airy function [1,2,3]. The GSWW is a nonlinear self-adjoint (NSA) with the suitable differential substitution, Cls are constructed using the new conservation theorem.

In this sequel, the numerical solution of nonlinear two-point boundary value problems (NTBVPs) for ordinary differential equations (ODEs) is found by Bezier curve method (BCM) and orthonormal Bernstein polynomials (OBPs). OBPs will be constructed by Gram-Schmidt technique. Stated methods are more easier and applicable for linear and nonlinear problems. Some numerical examples are solved and they are stated the accurate findings.

The results of global model simulation of an atmospheric pressure pulsed-DC helium plasma jet propagated in humid air, compared to the results of fluid model, are presented in this paper. The primary tasks of presented simulation were determination of the density and the main production pathways of OH radicals. The calculation reveals that global model gives higher OH densities than fluid model, especially at higher electron temperatures. This overestimation is mainly caused by the intrinsic assumptions of the global model, which impose limitations on its application for modelling of very transient physical processes such are streamers or plasma bullets. The main OH production and loss processes are well recognized by global model, and additional mechanisms are involved with respect to the case of fluid modelling. According to the presented results, global model will give satisfactory assessment of OH density and overall chemical composition of modelled plasmas, if the air fraction, electron density and temperature are correctly determined.

In this paper, we investigated the microbubble trapping using optical vortex tweezers. It is shown that the microbubble can be trapped by the vortex optical tweezers, in which the trapping light beam is of vortex beam. We studied a relationship between the transverse capture gradient force and the topological charges of the illuminating vortex beam. For objective lenses with numerical aperture of 1.25 (100×), the force measurement was performed by the power spectral density (PSD) roll-off method. It was shown that transverse trapping forces of vortex optical tweezers increase with the increment of the laser power for fixed topological charge. Whereas, the increase in the topological charges of vortex beam for the same laser power results in the decrease of the transverse trapping forces. The experimental results demonstrated that the laser mode (topological charge) has significant influence on the lateral trapping force.

A method for joint measuring the power law exponent and the structure constant of atmospheric turbulence is proposed and examined. The measurements are equivalent to solve the simultaneous equations formed by the irradiance scintillation index and the angle-of-arrival fluctuations variance, where the measured parameters are regarded as the unknowns. The measured error analysis is also presented. Based on our proposed method, the measured results accord with the daily trend of atmospheric turbulence.

Hex-derived network has a variety of useful applications in pharmacy, electronics, and networking. In this paper, we give general form of the M-polynomial of the hex-derived networks HDN 1 [ n ] and HDN 2 [ n ], which came out of n-dimensional hexagonal mesh. We also give closed forms of several degree-based topological indices associated to these networks.

The aim of the present work is to generalize the contraction theory for the analysis of the convergence of fractional order systems for both continuous-time and discrete-time systems. Contraction theory is a methodology for assessing the stability of trajectories of a dynamical system with respect to one another. The result of this study is a generalization of the Lyapunov matrix equation and linear eigenvalue analysis. The proposed approach gives a necessary and sufficient condition for exponential and global convergence of nonlinear fractional order systems. The examples elucidate that the theory is very straightforward and exact.

The variation of porous flow resistance of solution-gas drive for tight oil reservoirs has been studied by designing new experimental equipment. The results show that the relation between the porous flow resistance gradient and pressure is the exponential function. The solution-gas driving resistance is determined by a combination of factors, such as the gas-oil ratio, density, viscosity, permeability, porosity and the Jamin effect. Based on the material balance and the flow resistance gradient equation, a new governing equation for solution-gas drive is established. After coupling with the nonlinear equation of elastic drive, the drainage radius of solution-gas drive is found to be very small and decreases rapidly when the bottom-hole pressure approaches the bubble-point value. Pressure distribution of the solution-gas drive is non-linear, and the values decrease sharply as it approaches the well bore. The productivity is rather low despite being strongly influenced by permeability. Therefore, stimulated reservoir volume (SRV) is the essential measure taken for effective development for tight oil reservoirs.

In this paper the nonlinear long-short ( LS ) wave resonance model is analyzed through a new perspective. We obtain the classification of exact solutions by making use of the complete discrimination system for the trial equation method and through the generalized Kudryashov method. These methods do generate complementary wave solutions such as bright and dark solitons, rational functions, Jacobi elliptic functions as well as singular and periodic wave solutions. Some among them extend the already reported solutions through other techniques. For some types of solutions adequately graphical representations are displayed. The concerned methods could also be used in order to study other interesting nonlinear evolution processes in n dimensions.

Three charged lepton masses may be expressed in terms of a Z 3 -symmetric parametrization relevant for the discussion of Koide’s formula. After disregarding the overall scale parameter, the observed pattern of lepton masses can be described extremely well if the remaining two parameters acquire the unexpectedly simple values of 1 and 2/9. We argue that an analogue of this doubly special feature of the parametrization can also be seen in the quark sector provided that the mass of the strange quark is taken to be around 160 MeV, as might be expected in the low-energy regime.

Recently Berceanu and Iqbal proved that the growth rate of all the spherical Artin monoids is bounded above by 4. In this paper we compute the Hilbert series of the right-angled spherical Artin monoid M(Dn∞)$\begin{array}{} M({D}^{\infty}_{n}) \end{array} $ and graphically prove that growth rate is bounded by 4. We also discuss its recurrence relations and other main properties.

A method to judge shale gas flow regimes based on digital core analysis is proposed in this work. Firstly, three-dimensional shale digital cores in an anonymous shale formation in the Sichuan Basin are reconstructed by a Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) algorithm based on two-dimensional Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) images. Then a voxel-based method is proposed to calculate the characteristic length of the three-dimensional shale digital core. The Knudsen number for three-dimensional shale digital cores is calculated by the ratio of the molecular mean free path to the characteristic length and is used to judge the flow regimes under different reservoir conditions. The results indicate that shale gas flow regimes are mainly located at the slip flow and transition flow region. Furthermore, adsorption has no obvious influence on the free gas flow regimes. Because adsorption only exists in organic pores, three-dimensional inorganic pores and organic pores in the Haynesville shale formation are reconstructed by a MCMC algorithm based on two-dimensional SEM images. The characteristic lengths of the three-dimensional inorganic pores and three-dimensional organic pores are both calculated and gas flow regimes in organic pores and inorganic pores are judged.

In this paper, we consider the structure of water and waves from viewpoints of two observers, one on 4-dimensional manifold and the other on 11-dimensional manifold. On a four dimensional manifold, if water contains molecules of DNA, it emits waves that by attaching to a second water, molecules give their information to it and produce new structures which are affected by the existence of DNA molecules and can be detected by PCR. Type of DNA packings in men and women are different. Consequently, their radiated waves are different and for storing their information, we need to two types of water. However on a four dimensional manifold, the structures of water are approximately the same. There is a probability that differences between various types of water could be observed in extra dimensions. On the other hand, waves that interact with water in extra dimensions can play the role of topoisomerases in biology on 11-dimensional manifold. They open packings of DNA, read it’s information and transmit it to water. Properties of these topoisomerase-like waves are different from electromagnetic and gravitational waves. However, by reducing the number of dimensions from 11 to 4, these waves become similar to known waves in four dimensions. Two structures of water and wave in extra dimensions have effects in nature. For example, waters inside the egg of women and water outside it have different structures which causes to emergence of the entanglement between them. If sperm enter water outside the egg, this entanglement is broken and some holes appear inside the egg. To fill these holes, sperms are teleported from water to water inside the egg. Another effect is radiating some topoisomerase like waves of earth and sun which are helpful for plants and transcription and translation in cells. In some cases, these waves interact with water, extract DNA from it’s structure in extra dimensions and create life.

This paper analyses a dynamical system derived from a left-invariant, drift-free optimal control problem on the Lie group SO (3) × ℝ 3 × ℝ 3 in deep connection with the important role of the Lie groups in tackling the various problems occurring in physics, mathematics, engineering and economic areas [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. The stability results for the initial dynamics were inconclusive for a lot of equilibrium points (see [6]), so a linear control has been considered in order to stabilize the dynamics. The analytic approximate solutions of the resulting nonlinear system are established and a comparison with the numerical results obtained via the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method is achieved.

In this paper the independent equations of continuum electrodynamics and their quantity are investigated, beginning with the standard equations used in special and general relativity. Using differential identities it is checked that there are as many independent equations as there are unknowns, for the case with given sources as well as for the general case where the motion of the charged medium producing the field is unknown. This problem is then discussed in an alternative theory of gravity with a preferred reference frame, in order to constrain an additional, “interaction” energy tensor that has to be postulated in this theory, and that would be present also outside usual matter. In order that the interaction tensor be Lorentz-invariant in special relativity, it has to depend only on a scalar field p . Since the system of electrodynamics is closed in the absence of the interaction tensor, just one scalar equation more is needed to close it again in the presence of p . That equation is taken to be the equation for charge conservation. Finally, the equations that allow the determination of field p are derived in a given weak gravitational field and in a given electromagnetic field.

Predicting the productivity of fractured five-spot patterns in low permeability reservoirs at high water cut stages has an important significance for the development and optimization of reservoirs. Taking the reservoir heterogeneity and uneven distribution of the remaining oil into consideration, a novel method for predicting the transient productivity of fractured five-spot patterns in low permeability reservoirs at high water cut stages is proposed by using element analysis, the flow tube integration method, and the mass conservation principle. This new method is validated by comparing with actual production data from the field and the results of a numerical simulation. Also, the effects of related parameters on transient productivity are analyzed. The results show that increasing fracture length, pressure difference and reservoir permeability correspond to an increasing productivity. The research provides theoretical support for the development and optimization of fractured five-spot patterns at the high water cut stage.

The perturbed restricted three body problem has been reviewed. The mass of the primaries are assumed as triaxial. The locations of the collinear points have been computed. Series forms of these locations are obtained as new analytical results. In order to introduce a semi-analytical view, a Mathematica program has been constructed to graph the locations of collinear points versus the whole range of the mass ratio μ taking into account the triaxiality. The resultant figures have been analyzed

This article proposes a method to quickly detect the damage threshold of the fused silica components and the characteristics of the repair point damage. With a device detecting the beam deflection, the laser damage threshold is detected, quickly and effectively. Then, based on the beam deflection though mitigated sites, the beam deflection signals of the damage repair points are measured and the morphologies of mitigated sites are analyzed. This method is helpful in the online assessment of the damage resistance of the downstream optics and provides the guidance of the repair process.

In this paper, a bivariate spectral quasi-linearization method is used to solve the highly non-linear two dimensional Bratu problem. The two dimensional Bratu problem is also solved using the Chebyshev spectral collocation method which uses Kronecker tensor products. The bivariate spectral quasi-linearization method and Chebyshev spectral collocation method solutions converge to the lower branch solution. The results obtained using the bivariate spectral quasi-linearization method were compared with results from finite differences method, the weighted residual method and the homotopy analysis method in literature. Tables and graphs generated to present the results obtained show a close agreement with known results from literature.

In this work, we are concerned with the ion acoustic quasi-soliton in an electron-positron-ion plasma with superthermal electrons and positrons. By using the reductive perturbation method, the Korteweg-de Vries equation is derived from the governing equations of ion acoustic waves. An interesting soliton-cnoidal wave solution of the Korteweg-de Vries equation and its quasi-soliton behaviour are presented. The influence of electron superthermality, positron superthermality and positron concentration ratio on characteristics of the quasi-soliton is confirmed to be significant.

This paper presents new solutions for twodimensional projectile motion in a free and resistive medium, obtained within the newly established conformable derivative. For free motion, we obtain analytical solutions and show that the trajectory, height, flight time, optimal angle, and maximum range depend on the order of the conformable derivative, 0 < γ ≤ 1. Likewise, we analyse and simulate the projectile motion in a resistive medium by assuming several scenarios. The obtained trajectories never exceed the ordinary ones, given by γ = 1, unlike results reported in other studies.

Topological indices are the atomic descriptors that portray the structures of chemical compounds and they help us to anticipate certain physico-compound properties like boiling point, enthalpy of vaporization and steadiness. The atom bond connectivity ( ABC ) index and geometric arithmetic ( GA ) index are topological indices which are defined as ABC(G)=∑uv∈E(G)du+dv−2dudv $ABC(G)=\sum_{uv\in E(G)}\sqrt{\frac{d_u+d_v-2}{d_ud_v}}$ and GA(G)=∑uv∈E(G)2dudvdu+dv $GA(G)=\sum_{uv\in E(G)}\frac{2\sqrt{d_ud_v}}{d_u+d_v}$ , respectively, where d u is the degree of the vertex u . The aim of this paper is to introduced the new versions of ABC index and GA index namely multiple atom bond connectivity ( ABC ) index and multiple geometric arithmetic ( GA ) index. As an application, we have computed these newly defined indices for the octagonal grid Opq $O_p^q$ , the hexagonal grid H ( p , q ) and the square grid G p, q . Also, we compared these results obtained with the ones by other indices like the ABC 4 index and the GA 5 index.

Terahertz (THz) pulse imaging exhibits a potential application in biomedicine, nondestructive detection and safety inspection. However, the THz time-domain spectroscopy system will affect the THz image quality. To improve the THz image quality, in this article we proposed a novel method by combining the ant colony algorithm with the compressive sensing method. First, the image edge is detected by using the ant colony algorithm. Subsequently, the compressive sensing method based on signal sparse representation and the reconstruction algorithm from partial Fourier is applied on the non-edge image for noise reduction. Finally, the reconstruction result is obtained by combining the noise reduced non-edge image with the edge image. The experimental results on three kinds of images prove that the proposed method can preserve the edge information during noise reduction.

Based on the results of rate-controlled mercury-injection experiments, the microscopic pore-throat structure characteristics of tight sandstone in Sha-1 Section and tight limestone in Da’anzhai Section of Sichuan Basin were quantitatively characterized. The results show that the pore radius distribution characteristics of tight oil reservoirs are similar. The main distribution is between 100~190 μm, and the average pore radius is 160 μm. While the distribution of the throat radius of tight sandstone and limestone is quite different, the distribution of the throat of sandstone samples is relatively concentrated, and the distribution of the throat of limestone samples is relatively sparse. There is a good positive correlation between the average throat radius and permeability, but the correlation between fractal dimension and permeability is not obvious. This indicates that the permeability is mainly affected by the radius of the throat. The pore-throat ratio in tight oil reservoirs is relatively large, and the resistance to seepage is greater during development. Therefore, during the development of tight oil, measures should be taken to increase the radius of the throat, reduce the ratio of pore radius to pore-throat radius, and improve the seepage capacity of the reservoir, thereby improving the development of tight oil.

The development of online social environments has changed the manner of social interaction and communication, which are driven by individual human actions. Thus temporal variations in interaction networks are deeply impacted by the temporal dimension of human activity. In this paper, we address this issue through a detailed analysis on the retweets and comments of 550,000 Twitter users. We propose a temporal network model to represent the interaction network on Twitter, in which each node contains an activity window and the emergence of the edges between nodes are dependent on it. Specifically, the activity window is defined as the backtracking length from the message flow posted by the user’s friend, which represents the user’s social ability. It complies with a power-law distribution with an exponential cut-off. The interaction network is sparser and more clustered than the followee-follower network, in which the interaction stability and burstiness fluctuate with the activity window or with the degree to which the two users are involved in the communication. Finally, the effect of activity window on the aggregating degrees of the interaction network is examined.

In this paper, a new constitutive matrix for thermal conduction in transient thermal regime is developed and tested. We use cell method as a numerical method that is included in finite formulation methodology. The constitutive matrix defines through the cell method the behavior of solids when they are under a thermal potential. We have demonstrated that this matrix is equivalent to the electrical conduction constitutive matrix in steady state. We have applied this constitutive matrix to thermal analysis of asynchronous electric machines in transient regime. This constitutive matrix has been validated with comparisons based on finite element method. In finite formulation, the physical laws governing the electromagnetic fields and the physical thermal phenomena are expressed in integral formulation. The final algebraic equation system is tailored directly without discretizing of the differential equations. This is an important advantage because we omit a complex differential formulation and the discretization of the respective equations.

Topological indices play significant role in determining properties of chemical compound. Algebraic polynomials help to compute topological indices of studied chemical compounds. Benzenoid systems are used mainly as an intermediate to make other chemicals. In this report we aim to compute Zagreb polynomials of zigzag, rhombic, triangular, hourglass and jagged-rectangle benzenoid systems.

The invariant approach is employed to solve the Cauchy problem for the bond-pricing partial differential equation (PDE) of mathematical finance. We first briefly review the invariant criteria for a scalar second-order parabolic PDE in two independent variables and then utilize it to reduce the bond-pricing equation to different Lie canonical forms. We show that the invariant approach aids in transforming the bond-pricing equation to the second Lie canonical form and that with a proper parametric selection, the bond-pricing PDE can be converted to the first Lie canonical form which is the classical heat equation. Different cases are deduced for which the original equation reduces to the first and second Lie canonical forms. For each of the cases, we work out the transformations which map the bond-pricing equation into the heat equation and also to the second Lie canonical form. We construct the fundamental solutions for the bond-pricing model via these transformations by utilizing the fundamental solutions of the classical heat equation as well as solution to the second Lie canonical form. Finally, the closed-form analytical solutions of the Cauchy initial value problems for the bond-pricing model with proper choice of terminal conditions are obtained.

The Greek parameters in option pricing are derivatives used in hedging against option risks. In this paper, the Greeks of the continuous arithmetic Asian option pricing model are derived. The derivation is based on the analytical solution of the continuous arithmetic Asian option model obtained via a proposed semi-analytical method referred to as Laplace-Adomian decomposition method (LADM). The LADM gives the solution in explicit form with few iterations. The computational work involved is less. Nonetheless, high level of accuracy is not neglected. The obtained analytical solutions are in good agreement with those of Rogers & Shi (J. of Applied Probability 32: 1995, 1077-1088), and Elshegmani & Ahmad (ScienceAsia, 39S: 2013, 67–69). The proposed method is highly recommended for analytical solution of other forms of Asian option pricing models such as the geometric put and call options, even in their time-fractional forms. The basic Greeks obtained are the Theta, Delta, Speed, and Gamma which will be of great help to financial practitioners and traders in terms of hedging and strategy.

In South Africa, power outages and scheduled load shedding are common practices in a bid to safeguard power resources. With the increase in cost of conventional energy sources, and the depletion of fossil fuels, attempts to use renewable resources to their full potential are underway. South Africa and in particular Pietermaritzburg receives sunshine throughout the year, making it suitable for harnessing solar power. In this work we estimate the amount of Global Solar Radiation (GSR) received in Pietermaritzburg which is the capital of the KwaZulu-Natal province. An air temperature model (Hargreaves-Samani) is used to approximate the GSR received in Bisley in comparison to measured data obtained from the ARC, for a period of one calendar year (July 2014 – June 2015). We proceed to apply the Angstrom-Prescott model to evaluate the competence of the initial prediction method. The primary aim of this study is to validate the efficiency and accuracy of the above-mentioned forecasting models, for areas within close proximity. Our results compare fairly well with the observed data provided by the ARC. Both models prove to sufficiently estimate the amount of GSR incident in Bisley. The deviations from the actual measured values suggest that a model which incorporates both variables may improve the accuracy of GSR estimations. The use of comprehensive prediction and forecasting models will allow for optimal placement of solar technologies for the harnessing of GSR within Pietermaritzburg. Though Pietermaritzburg may not be suitable for large scale solar power plants, the employment of solar panels in both industrial and residential areas will contribute greatly to a decrease in demand of grid electricity.

In this work, we bring a different approach for Sturm-Liouville problems having Bessel and hydrogen atom type and we provide a basis for direct and inverse problems. From this point of view, we find representations of solutions and asymptotic expansions for eigenfunctions. Furthermore, some numerical estimations are given to illustrate the necessity of the Sturm-Liouville difference equations with the potential function for the convenience to the spectral theory. The behavior of eigenfunctions for the Sturm-Liouville problem having Bessel and hydrogen atom potential type is analyzed and compared to each other. And then, comparisons are showed by tables and figures.

The rhombus inverted nine-spot well pattern is often adopted in low permeability oilfield development, which has the advantage of high oil production rate and flexible adjustment. Due to the strong heterogeneity of the low permeability reservoirs, the oil wells along the fracture direction are heavily water-flooded and the water cut rises quickly, and the oil wells on both sides of fractures have no response to water injection. Hence, deep profile control is an effective way to solve this kind of plane contradiction, and is widely applied in the low permeability oilfield development. However, because of the asymmetry of the rhombus inverted nine-spot well pattern and the heterogeneity of the low permeability reservoirs, there are differences in the response characteristics of oil wells at different locations after deep profile control. In this paper, combined with physical experiments and numerical simulations, we analyzed oil increment, the distribution of streamlines and slugs of wells at different locations before and after deep profile control, and evaluated the response characteristics of oil wells of rhombus inverted nine-spot well pattern after deep profile control in low permeability fractured reservoirs. It is concluded that the effect of increasing oil production of the side wells is better than that of the angle wells after deep profile control, and the response sequence is side well, angle well in short axis, and angle well in long axis, which is also verified by the practical results of deep profile control in Daqing Oilfield.

In this article, a modified Theta shaped, compact double negative metamaterial structure is designed and presented for satellite communication. Two oppositely faced E-shaped resonators are connected with the substantial Theta to complete the structure. A low profile dielectric substrate FR-4 is used to design the 9 × 9 mm 2 unit cell which has a succinct structure where the attainment of the resonator is explored both integrally and experimentally. The proposed metamaterial has a transmission coefficient of 13 GHz (bandwidth) with a 500 MHz band gap at the middle. A correlation is made between the basic unit-cell and array structures, and a comparison is shown among 1 × 2, 2 × 2, and 4 × 4 array structures with 1 × 2, 2 × 2, and 4 × 4 unit-cell configurations to validate the performance of the proposed metamaterial. It has also been observed by the Nicolson–Ross–Weir approach at the resonating frequencies. The effective electromagnetic parameters retrieved from the simulation of the S-parameters imply that the metamaterial structure shows negative refraction bands. The structure shows negative permittivity at 2.60 to 5.16 GHz, 6.63 to 9.31 GHz and 13.03 to 16.18 GHz and negative permeability at 7.74 to 13.07 GHz and 13.88 to 16.55 GHz, respectively. It exhibits double-negative phenomena at X and Ku bands with a frequency range of about 1.17 GHz (8.14 – 9.31 GHz) and 1.42 GHz (13.80 – 15.22 GHz), respectively. Having an auspicious design and wide range double negative characteristics, this structure can be applied to satellite communication.

This study investigates the curved worldline of a charged particle accelerated by an electromagnetic field in flat spacetime. A new metric, which dependes on the charge-to-mass ratio and electromagnetic potential, is proposed to describe the curve characteristic of the world-line. The main result of this paper is that an equivalent equation of the Lorentz equation of motion is put forward based on a 4-dimensional Riemannian manifold defined by the metric. Using the Ricci rotation coefficients, the equivalent equation is self-consistently constructed. Additionally, the Lorentz equation of motion in the non-inertial reference frames is studied with the local Lorentz covariance of the equivalent equation. The model attempts to geometrize classical electromagnetism in the absence of the other interactions, and it is conducive to the establishment of the unified theory between electromagnetism and gravitation.

We have employed the exp(- φ ( ξ ))-expansion method to derive traveling waves solutions of breaking solition (BS), Zakharov-Kuznetsov-Burgers (ZKB), Ablowitz-Kaup-Newell-Segur (AKNS) water wave, Unstable nonlinear Schrödinger (UNLS) and Dodd-Bullough-Mikhailov (DBM) equations. These models have valuable applications in mathematical physics. The results of the constructed model, along with some graphical representations provide the basic knowlegde about these models. The derived results have various applications in applied science.

We study the thermoconvective instability in a rotating ferromagnetic fluid confined between two parallel infinite plates with temperature modulation at the boundaries. We use weakly nonlinear stability theory to analyze the stationary convection in terms of critical Rayleigh numbers. The influence of parameters such as the Taylor number, the ratio of the magnetic force to the buoyancy force and the magnetization on the flow behaviour and structure are investigated. The heat transfer coefficient is analyzed for both the in-phase and the out-of-phase modulations. A truncated Fourier series is used to obtain a set of ordinary differential equations for the time evolution of the amplitude of convection for the ferromagnetic fluid flow. The system of differential equations is solved using a recent multi-domain spectral collocation method that has not been fully tested on such systems before. The solutions sets are presented as sets of trajectories in the phase plane. For some supercritical values of the Rayleigh number, spiralling trajectories that transition to chaotic solutions are obtained. Additional results are presented in terms of streamlines and isotherms for various Rayleigh numbers.

In this research work, for the first time we introduced and described the new method, which is modified extended auxiliary equation mapping method. We investigated the new exact traveling and families of solitary wave solutions of two well-known nonlinear evaluation equations, which are generalized Zakharov-Kuznetsov-Benjamin-Bona-Mahony and simplified modified forms of Camassa-Holm equations. We used a new technique and we successfully obtained the new families of solitary wave solutions. As a result, these new solutions are obtained in the form of elliptic functions, trigonometric functions, kink and antikink solitons, bright and dark solitons, periodic solitary wave and traveling wave solutions. These new solutions show the power and fruitfulness of this new method. We can solve other nonlinear partial differential equations with the use of this method.

The effect of magnetic field on the flow of the UCMF (Upper-Convected-Maxwell Fluid) with the property of a heat source/sink immersed in a porous medium is explored. A shrinking phenomenon along with the permeability of the wall are considered. The governing equations for the motion and transfer of heat of the UC MF along with boundary conditions are converted into a set of coupled nonlinear mathematical equations. Appropriate similarity transformations are used to convert the set of nonlinear partial differential equations into nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The modeled ordinary differential equations have been solved by the Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM). The convergence of the series solution is established. For the sake of comparison, numerical (ND-Solve method) solutions are also obtained. Special attention is given to how the non-dimensional physical parameters of interest affect the flow of the UCMF. It is observed that with the increasing Deborah number the velocity decreases and the temperature inside the fluid increases. The results show that the velocity and temperature distribution increases with a porous medium. It is also observed that the magnetic parameter has a decelerating effect on velocity while the temperature profiles increases in the entire domain. Due to the increase in Prandtl number the temperature profile increases. It is also observed that the heat source enhance the thermal conductivity and increases the fluid temperature while the heat sink provides a decrease in the fluid temperature.

It is widely accepted that stem cells directly sense the elasticity of two-dimensional (2-D) substrates and differentiate into a distinct cell type dependent on the substrate elasticity ( direct-sensing differentiation : soft and hard substrates promote differentiation into soft and hard tissue lineage, respectively). Biologically, native extracellular matrices (ECMs) are constantly remodeled through out the life of individuals, which inadvertently introduce changes of mechanical properties. Therefore, direct-sensing differentiation might not fully take into account the responses of stem cells in the actual ECMs microenvironment. Recent investigations in three-dimensional (3-D) cell culture environment suggested the inconsistency of direct-sensing differentiation . Stem cells specifically differentiate not only by sensing the elasticity of materials but also by considering the cellular traction exerted to reorganize the matrices and the matrices deformation. This paper aims to expand further how the cells incorporate the elasticity cues and traction-mediated deformation in final differentiation fates of stem cells. To achieve the aim, we introduced an empirical model based on the investigations in 3-D cell culture environment. The empirical model would serve as a useful framework for future studies intended to investigate the relationship of traction-mediated deformation and commitment of stem cells for variety of tissue lineage in 2-D or 3-D cell culture environment.

The most important plastic resins used in wire coating are high/low density polyethylene (LDPE/HDPE), plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC), nylon and polysulfone. To provide insulation and mechanical strength, coating is necessary for wires. Simulation of polymer flow during wire coating dragged froma bath of Oldroyd 8-constant fluid incompresible and laminar fluid inside pressure type die is carried out numerically. In wire coating the flow depends on the velocity of the wire, geometry of the die and viscosity of the fluid.The non-dimensional resulting flow and heat transfer differential equations are solved numerically by Ruge-Kutta 4 th -order method with shooting technique. Reynolds model and Vogel’s models are encountered for temperature dependent viscosity. The numerical solutions are obtained for velocity field and temperature distribution. The solutions are computed for different physical parameters.It is observed that the non-Newtonian propertis of fluid were favourable, enhancing the velocity in combination with temperature dependent variable. The Brinkman number contributes to increase the temperature for both Reynolds and Vogel’smodels. With the increasing of pressure gradient parameter of both Reynolds and Vogel’s models, the velocity and temperature profile increases significantly in the presence of non-Newtonian parameter. Furthermore, the present result is also compared with published results as a particular case.

Centrality is widely used to measure which nodes are important in a network. In recent decades, numerous metrics have been proposed with varying computation complexity. To test the idea that approximating a high-complexity metric by a low-complexity metric, researchers have studied the correlation between them. However, these works are based on Pearson correlation which is sensitive to the data distribution. Intuitively, a centrality metric is a ranking of nodes (or edges). It would be more reasonable to use rank correlation to do the measurement. In this paper, we use degree, a low-complexity metric, as the base to approximate three other metrics: closeness, betweenness, and eigenvector. We first demonstrate that rank correlation performs better than the Pearson one in scale-free networks. Then we study the correlation between centrality metrics in real networks, and find that the betweenness occupies the highest coefficient, closeness is at the middle level, and eigenvector fluctuates dramatically. At last, we evaluate the performance of using top degree nodes to approximate three other metrics in the real networks. We find that the intersection ratio of betweenness is the highest, and closeness and eigenvector follows; most often, the largest degree nodes could approximate largest betweenness and closeness nodes, but not the largest eigenvector nodes.

The aim of this work is the modeling of coupled electric and heat processes in a system for spot resistance welding of cross-wire reinforced steel bars. The real system geometry, dependences of material properties on the temperature, and changes of contact resistance and released power during the welding process have been taken into account in the study. The 3D analysis of the coupled AC electric and transient thermal field distributions is carried out using the finite element method. The novel feature is that the processes are modeled for several successive time stages, corresponding to the change of contact area, related contact resistance, and reduction of the released power, occurring simultaneously with the creation of contact between the workpieces. The values of contact resistance and power changes have been determined on the basis of preliminary experimental and theoretical investigations. The obtained results present the electric and temperature field distributions in the system. Special attention has been paid to the temperature evolution at specified observation points and lines in the contact area. The obtained information could be useful for clarification of the complicated nature of interrelated electric, thermal, mechanical, and physicochemical welding processes. Adequate modeling is also an opportunity for proper control and improvement of the system.

Supporting forces of magnetic bearings are lower than those of mechanical bearings. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes a new three-axis active control magnetic bearing (3-axis AMB) with an asymmetric structure where its rotor is attracted only in one axial direction due to a negative pressure of fluid. Our proposed 3-axis AMB can generate a large suspension force in one axial direction due to the asymmetric structure. The performances of our proposed 3-axis AMB are computed through 3-D finite element analysis.

This paper presents a design optimization of an axial-flux eddy-current magnetic coupling. The design procedure is based on a torque formula derived from a 3D analytical model and a population algorithm method. The main objective of this paper is to determine the best design in terms of magnets volume in order to transmit a torque between two movers, while ensuring a low slip speed and a good efficiency. The torque formula is very accurate and computationally efficient, and is valid for any slip speed values. Nevertheless, in order to solve more realistic problems, and then, take into account the thermal effects on the torque value, a thermal model based on convection heat transfer coefficients is also established and used in the design optimization procedure. Results show the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.

This work demonstrates the equivalence of two constitutive equations. One is used in Fourier’s law of the heat conduction equation, the other in electric conduction equation; both are based on the numerical Cell Method, using the Finite Formulation (FF-CM). A 3-D pure heat conduction model is proposed. The temperatures are in steady state and there are no internal heat sources. The obtained results are compared with an equivalent model developed using the Finite Elements Method (FEM). The particular case of 2-D was also studied. The errors produced are not significant at less than 0.2%. The number of nodes is the number of the unknowns and equations to resolve. There is no significant gain in precision with increasing density of the mesh.

In this paper, the authors describe the distribution of temperatures around electroconductive pathways created by a physical vacuum deposition process on flexible textile substrates used in elastic electronics and textronics. Cordura material was chosen as the substrate. Silver with 99.99% purity was used as the deposited metal. This research was based on thermographic photographs of the produced samples. Analysis of the temperature field around the electroconductive layer was carried out using Image ThermaBase EU software. The analysis of the temperature distribution highlights the software’s usefulness in determining the homogeneity of the created metal layer. Higher local temperatures and non-uniform distributions at the same time can negatively influence the work of the textronic system.

This paper presents the results of field calculations of cogging torque for a 12-pole torque motor with an 18-slot stator. A constant angular velocity magnet and the same size gap between n-1 magnets were assumed. In these conditions, the effect of change of the n-th gap between magnets on the cogging torque was tested. Due to considerable length of the machine the calculations were performed using a 2D model. The n-th gap for which the cogging torque assumed the lowest value was evaluated. The cogging torque of the machine with symmetrical magnetic circuit (the same size of gap between magnets) was compared to the one of the asymmetrical machine. With proper choice of asymmetry, the cogging torque for the machine decreased by four times.

This paper presents two mathematical models for temperature field analysis in a new hybrid magnetic bearing. Temperature distributions have been calculated using a three dimensional simulation and a two dimensional one. A physical model for temperature testing in the magnetic bearing has been developed. Some results obtained from computer simulations were compared with measurements.

The paper presents the results of analytical and experimental studies concerning the influence of different kinds of fuel additives on the quality of the spark discharge for different configurations of the ignition system. The wear of the spark plug electrode and the value of spark discharge were determined for various impurities and configurations of the air-fuel mixture.

The level of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) exposure increases day by day as natural consequences of technological developments. In recent years, the increasing use of cellular systems has made it necessary to measure and evaluate EMR originating from base stations. In this study, broadband and band selective electric field strength (E) measurements were taken at four different times in order to evaluate the change of short term E in Atakum district of Samsun, Turkey. The measurements were collected from 46 different locations using a SRM 3006 and a PMM 8053 EMR meter in a band from 100 kHz to 3 GHz, and the maximum E (E max ) and the average E (E avg ) were recorded. The highest values have been noticed in these measurements at 9.45 V/m and 17.53 V/m for E avg and E max respectively. Apart from these measurements, 24 hour long term E measurements were taken at a location where the highest value was observed and analyzed, to observe the change of Es during a day. At the end of the study, a tentative mathematical model that helps in computing the total E of the medium with 95% accuracy, was obtained.

This paper describes the combination of discrete wavelet transforms (DWT) and artificial intelligence (AI), which are efficient techniques to identify the type of inrush current, analyze the origin and possible cause on the capacitor bank switching. The experiment setup used to verify the proposed techniques can be detected and classified the transient inrush current from normal capacitor rated current. The discrete wavelet transforms are used to detect and classify the inrush current. Then, output from wavelet is acted as input of fuzzy inference system for discriminating the type of switching transient inrush current. The proposed technique shows enhanced performance with a discrimination accuracy of 90.57%. Both simulation study and experimental results are quite satisfactory with providing the high accuracy and reliability which can be developed and implemented into a numerical overcurrent (50/51) and unbalanced current (60C) protection relay for an application of shunt capacitor bank protection in the future.

Ferromagnetic poles in a magnetic transmission gear require particular attention during their design process. Usually, during the numerical simulation of these devices the effects of hysteresis for loss estimation are neglected and considered only during post-processing calculations. Since the literature lacks hysteresis models, this paper adopts a homogenized hysteretic model able to include eddy current and hysteresis losses in 2D laminated materials for iron poles. In this article the results related to the hysteresis in a magnetic gear are presented and compared to the non-hysteretic approach.

This article deals with pulsed excitation terahertz computed tomography (THz CT). Opposite to x-ray CT, where just a single value (pixel) is obtained, in case of pulsed THz CT the time signal is acquired for each position. Recorded waveform can be parametrized - many features carrying various information about examined structure can be calculated. Based on this, multiparametric reconstruction algorithm was proposed: inverse Radon transform based reconstruction is applied for each parameter and then fusion of results is utilized. Performance of the proposed imaging scheme was experimentally verified using dielectric phantoms.

The behavior analysis of the transformer is usually achieved by the frequency response analysis (FRA), which is obtained by the application of a very low AC voltage in over a wide frequency range. This paper presents a low and high frequency modelling approach of a three-phase transformer. The developed model consists of a cascade of parallel RLC cells, whose parameters are identified using the frequency response analysis data measurements obtained on each transformer phase. Thus, the proposed model can simulate the frequency behavior of the transformer windings without reference to the geometries of the coils which makes it easily usable in the failure diagnosis field. Experimental results on a 300 VA laboratory transformer validate the proposed model.

The power systems usually include a number of nonlinear receivers. Nonlinear receivers are the source of disturbances generated to the power system in the form of higher harmonics. The level of these disturbances describes the total harmonic distortion coefficient THD. Its value depends on many factors. One of them are the deformation and change in RMS value of supply voltage. A modern LED luminaire is a nonlinear receiver as well. The paper presents the results of the analysis of the influence of change in RMS value of supply voltage and the level of dimming of the tested luminaire on the value of the current THD. The analysis was made using a mathematical model based on multivariable polynomial fitting.

A middle-low-speed maglev train is supported by an electromagnetic force between the suspension electromagnet (EM) and the steel rail and is driven by a linear induction motor. The capability of the suspension system has a direct bearing on safety and the technical and economic performance of the train. This paper focuses on the dependence of the electromagnetic force on the structural configuration of the EM with the purpose of improving performance of a conventional EM. Finally, a novel configuration is proposed of a hybrid suspension magnet, which combines permanent magnets and coils, in order to increase the suspension force while reducing the suspension power loss.

In this work, a numerical model is developed for a rapid computation of eddy currents in composite materials, adaptable for both carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRPs) for NDT applications and multifilamentary high temperature superconductive (HTS) tapes for AC loss evaluation. The proposed model is based on an integro-differential formulation in terms of the electric vector potential in the frequency domain. The high anisotropy and the nonlinearity of the considered materials are easily handled in the frequency domain.

The visual saliency map is becoming important and challenging for many scientific disciplines (robotic systems, psychophysics, cognitive neuroscience and computer science). Map created by the model indicates possible salient regions by taking into consideration face presence and motion which is essential in motion pictures. By combining we can obtain credible saliency map with a low computational cost.

We have proposed a current superimposition variable flux reluctance machine for traction motors. The torque-speed characteristics of this machine can be controlled by increasing or decreasing the DC current. In this paper, we discuss an AC/DC current ratio in the current superimposition variable flux reluctance machine. The structure and control method are described, and the characteristics are computed using FEA in several AC/DC ratios.

In this work, we highlight the influence of the material uncertainties (magnetic permeability, electric conductivity of a Mn-Zn ferrite core, and electric permittivity of wire insulation) on the RLC parameters of a wound inductor extracted from the finite element method. To that end, the finite element method is embedded in a Monte Carlo simulation. We show that considering mentioned different material properties as real random variables, leads to significant variations in the distributions of the RLC parameters.

The aim of this paper is to explore the possibility of using linear tubular flux switching permanent magnet machines in a free piston energy conversion (FPEC) system. In FPEC systems, acceleration and therefore speed are often relatively high, which impose to have a reduced number of poles, meanwhile the cogging force will be relatively high. In order to reduce the cogging force two techniques are combined. The analysis is done using finite element method.

The paper presents a new approach to modeling of magnetic properties and the influence of temperature on hysteresis loops in La(FeCoSi) 13 magnetocaloric compound. The GRUCAD hysteresis model has been used for analysis of magnetic behavior in the vicinity of the magnetic phase transition. The modeling results are in a qualitative agreement with experiment.

The topic of the presented paper aims to demonstrate a new principle of hydrodynamic lubrication in mechanical, thermal and electro-magnetic fields. Up till now, when dealing with the hydrodynamic theory lubrication, many authors of scientific papers have assumed the constant oil dynamic viscosity value without variations caused by temperature crosswise the film thickness. Simultaneously, due to the numerous AFM measurements, it appears that oil temperature gradients and oil viscosity changes in the bearing gap height directions cannot be omitted. Therefore, in this paper, the problem of the viscosity changes across the lubricant thin layer was resolved as the main novelty in principles of mechanical thermal lubrication. The method of solving the mentioned problem was manifested by a general model of semi-analytical solutions of isothermal electro-magneto-elastohydro-dynamic and non-Newtonian, lubrication problem formulated for two deformable rotational surfaces in curvilinear, co-ordinates.

We analyze the electromagnetic field of a wireless power transfer system using the 3-D parallel finite element method on K computer, which is a super computer in Japan. It is clarified that the electromagnetic field of the wireless power transfer system can be analyzed in a practical time using the parallel computation on K computer, moreover, the accuracy of the loss calculation becomes better as the mesh division of the shield becomes fine.

Predictive computer simulation of the temperature field control system of an induction heated object encounters difficulties associated with the nonlinearityof systemon the one hand, and the time of calculation on the other hand, during numerical analysis of the magnetothermal field of the object, especially in 3D. The paper presents a methodology for the fast simulation of temperature field for a completed induction heating system of calender rolls. The method of 3D calculations of rotating calender rolls with a moving web of wet paper can be connected easily with a simulation of the temperature field controller, for simulation of complex control systems.

Electrostatic adhesion force is analyzed with emphasis on design parameters of the interdigital electrodes, material properties of dielectric layers and its thickness. From these results, two fabrication processes of the electroadhesive foils are studied to reach the highest possible performance. Experimental measurements are carried out to verify the results.

A new approach for designing ac motor windings free of partial discharges (PD) is proposed. The method consists of adding a thin conducting layer on the outer surface of the enameled wire used for building the machine winding. With this additional layer, PDs occur only in critical zones localized near the wire connections rather than randomly in the residual voids between turns. With such deterministic localizations, it is possible to reduce strongly the PD activity by adding small quantities of varnish in the determined critical zones. After studying the validity of the Paschen’s hypotheses for this application, the Paschen’s law is coupled to an electrostatic finite element analysis, for predicting the Partial Discharge Inception Voltage (PDIV), which corresponds to the electronic avalanche ignition in the air of critical zones.

The aim of this paper is the multi-physical modeling of synchronous permanent magnet machines, dedicated to hybrid electrical vehicles application, using reluctance network lumped mechanical and thermal models. The modeling approaches are presented and validated by comparing the obtained results to those of finite element method with a close look to the airgap modeling and the consideration of soft magnetic materials non-linearity in the electromagnetic modeling. As well as a close look also on the conduction and convection heat coefficients for the machine different regions in the thermal modeling. Finally a focus on the mass, damping and stiffness matrix computation in lumped mechanical modeling taking into account the temperature influence on the materials mechanical properties. In addition a simplified rotating electrical machine is described and multiple coupled analysis were done in order to derive the structure magneto-vibroacoustic performances.

In order to reveal the dynamic response mechanism of silo-storage-foundation system under seismic wave loading, the silo is simplified as a thin-walled cylindrical shell structure with fixed bottom and free upper part. Considering geometric nonlinearity, dynamic elastic modulus, damping and other factors, the nonlinear vibration differential equations of the silo under dynamic loading are established. The Galerkin method is used to discretize the vibration differential equations, and the definite conditions with solution ideas are given. Subsequently, the dynamic action system of tube supported reinforced concrete silos is studied by using the shaking table test method. The similarity theory of silo model test is constructed, and the experimental model of the silo storage foundation interaction system with the geometric ratio of 1:20 is established, where three seismic waves in the suitable engineering background are selected to carry out the shaking table test. The acceleration peak value at different heights of the model is measured, and the dynamic amplification factor of the silo model along the height direction is studied under different seismic intensity and different material condition. The seismic performance of the prototype structure is studied, which provides the theoretical basis and practical guidance for the design of silo system and the operation and management of silos.

Research on topic evolution of Microblog is an effective way to analyze network public opinions. This paper proposes a method for mining changing of Microblog topics with time, and realizes topic evolution through topic extraction and topic relevance calculation. Firstly, latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) model is used to automatically extract topics from different time slices; secondly, a similarity calculation algorithm is designed to calculate relevance of topic content through normalization of similarities among characteristic words and co-occurrence relations, to get evolutionary relationship among sub-topics of different time slices; thirdly, using probability distribution of blog article-topic to calculate topic intensity in each time slice, and then gets evolutionary relationship of topic intensity over time. Experiments show that the proposed topic evolution analysis model can effectively detect the evolution of topic content and intensity of real blogs.

To evaluate the fracture life of steam turbine HP-IP rotors more accurately, an understanding of the creep damage effect on creep cracking performance of service-exposed rotor steel, and a proper creep crack growth (CCG) model considering the creep damage effect, is essential. In the present work comparative CCG tests were carried out on virgin and rotor steel that had been in service for 16 years, to examine the differences in creep crack microstructure and CCG rate between these two specimen types. Test results showed that the CCG rate of service-exposed steel is accelerated by creep damage due to metallurgical deterioration. Based on the CCG model derived by Webster, an improved CCG model is proposed by replacing the constant exponent with a creep-damage-related variable. To validate the improved model, a comparison of da/dt vs. C * between experiment data and the CCG models was conducted. The predictive result of the improved model is in better agreement with the experiment results than the classical CCG and Webster models for the service-exposed rotor steel. With decrement of C * value within the improved CCG model, the remaining life of HP-IP rotors may be predicted more accurately.

In data transmission networks, the availability of data transmission is equivalent to the existence of the fractional factor of the corresponding graph which is generated by the network. Research on the existence of fractional factors under specific network structures can help scientists design and construct networks with high data transmission rates. A graph G is named as an all fractional ( g , f , n ′, m )-critical deleted graph if the remaining subgraph keeps being an all fractional ( g , f , m )-critical graph, despite experiencing the removal of arbitrary n ′ vertices of G . In this paper, we study the relationship between neighborhood conditions and a graph to be all fractional ( g , f , n ′, m )-critical deleted. Two sufficient neighborhood conditions are determined, and furthermore we show that the conditions stated in the main results are sharp.

Binary entity relationship tuples can be applied in many fields such as knowledge base construction, data mining, pattern extraction, and so on. The purpose of entity relationship mining is discovering and identifying the semantic relationship. As the relationship between entities are different from the general domain, using supervise learning methods to extract entity relationships in the field of ethnicity is difficult. After research, we find that some words can be used in the context of a sentence to describe the semantic relationship. In order to salve the existing difficulties of building tagged corpus and the predefined entities-relationships model, this paper proposes a method of density-based multi-clustering clustering of semantic similarity (DBMCSS) to mine the binary entity relationship tuples from the Chinese national information corpus, which can extract entity relationships without a training corpus.

A novel design of a coplanar waveguide (CPW) feed antenna array with circular polarization (CP) and a high front-to-back ratio is described. The proposed CP array is achieved by using a compact CPW–slotline transition network etched in the ground plane. The measured results show that this kind of feeding method can improve the impedance bandwidth, as well as the axial ratio bandwidth of the CP antenna array and provide adequate gain. The proposed array can achieve a 6.08% impedance bandwidth and a 4.10% CP bandwidth. Details of the antenna design and experimental results are presented and discussed.

With the development of the Internet of Things (IoT), a new and important research direction is possible using IoT to solve the problems of information and intelligence in the metallurgical industry. This paper proposes an intelligent monitoring network based on networking technology and uses the coking process as the research object. The construction of a coking process intelligence monitoring network should focus on the formation of a perception layer network and build on a ZigBee mesh clustered network. Moreover, it also puts forward a network routing establishment and data transmission mechanism. This study provides an effective reference for the wide application of the IoT in the intelligent management and monitoring of the metallurgical process.

The temperature detection and alarm system of power equipment is supposed to be used in power accidents caused by overheating. In our experiment, we build a system to detect the temperature of electrical power equipment. According to the actual temperature fitting curve, the whole system uses the Fiber Bragg Gratings as the signal sensing and transmission media, using the tunable Fabry-Perot (FP) cavity filter to demodulate the fiber and a SLED light source which is considered high reliability. System control and signal processing is carried out by the STM32F407ZGT6 microcontroller and its internal single-cycle DSP. The system has the characteristics of strong anti-interference ability, high reliability and precision, simple installation, convenient maintenance, remote signal transmission.

Rotary steering systems are cutting-edge, intelligent oil drilling and steering equipment developed at the end of the twentieth century. The core function of the bit pointing rotary steering system is to control the eccentric shaft with bit pointing function to track the outer drill collar for reverse rotation [1]. When the relative speed thereof is offset, the mandrel tool face remains stationary, and the directive function of the drill bit is realized [2]. Therefore, it is important to precisely control mandrel rotational speed and make it follow the outer drill collar to conduct face-to-face rotation at all times. A double closed loop control method for realizing rotational speed loop and position loop through controlling mandrel rotational speed is proposed in this paper. Relative rotational speed of drill bit shaft (or mandrel) and drill collar of zero can be realized within the shortest time, thereby realizing rapid and precise rotational speed tracking. Relative positions of mandrel and drill collar at several angles on 360° circumferences, thereby proving the feasibility of the method. The method can provide a technical reference and basis for prototype production of directional rotary steering system [3].

Information society brings convenience to people, but also produces a lot of data. Relational databases are not suitable for processing big data due to architecture defects. The most commonly used system to store and process large amounts of data is the NoSQL (Not only Structured Query Language) database. Obviously, it is very important to cooperate with these independent computers to accomplish processing tasks efficiently, which is the function of load balancing. This paper studies the commonly used NoSQL database and load balancing algorithms, and designs and implements a more efficient load balancing algorithm. By introducing the relationship between nodes and the children of their brother nodes, we reduce the height of the whole sorted binary tree. The time cost of the algorithm is reduced versus the commonly used weighted polling algorithm O(N) to O(log N), while the spatial cost remains unchanged. The equalization algorithm synthetically utilizes the characteristics of big data processing systems and has good performance. At the same time, the algorithm can quickly find the sub-optimal nodes when the optimal nodes have been occupied, so it is very suitable for load balancing in highly concurrent systems. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed load balancing algorithm is verified by simulation.

Fiber grating (FBG) is an important optical device of fiber, which is widely used in optical fiber communication and sensing. At the present stage, the fiber grating is almost prepared in the static state of the fiber, and then the grating is welded into the fiber grating array or network. With the continuous improvement of the application effect of fiber grating, has become one of the most promising, representative and fastest developing fiber passive devices. In this paper, fiber grating is classified according to the refractive index distribution of grating axis. The central wavelength of Bragg fiber grating is modulated by using external parameters (temperature or stress strain). The wave equation of insulating medium is obtained by the reflection characteristic and coupling mode theory of fiber grating. Using sparse matrix model of nerve action potential signal with wavelet decomposition layers, nerve action potential signal reconstruction of the relative error between the value and the original value contrast found that reconstructed and original signals are very close. Good results have been obtained for the sampling reconstruction of the filtered high signal-to-noise ratio neural action potential signal. Researchers have conducted extensive and in-depth research on fiber grating sensing technology, and achieved gratifying results. But with the of the engineering application of technical requirements, they need real-time monitoring. Due to the cross sensitivities of fiber grating, it became the bottleneck of multiple parameter measurement.

Along this paper, we shall update the state-of-the-art concerning the application of fractal-based techniques to test for fractal patterns in physiological time series. As such, the first half of the present work deals with some selected approaches to deal with the calculation of the self-similarity exponent of time series. They include broadly-used procedures as well as recent advances improving their accuracy and performance for a wide range of self-similar processes. The second part of this paper consists of a detailed review of high-quality studies carried out in the context of electroencephalogram signals. Both medical and non-medical applications have been deeply reviewed. This work is especially recommended to all those researchers especially interested in fractal pattern recognition for physiological time series.

In the last 20 years, requirements for x-ray lithography, space technology and ICF process diagnosis, the x-ray imaging technology has been developed. However, x-ray imaging turns out to be more difficult due to intense absorption of x-rays, and the refractive index of x band is slightly less than 1. Normal imaging method may not be suitable for x-ray band. At present, grazing reflective imaging and coded aperture imaging are commonly used for this band. This paper presents a detailed analysis of the imaging characteristics of single-mirror and double-mirror. Then the focal distance, field obliquity and aperture position of the mirrors of the KBA microscopes at grazing incidence are studied. The results show that the structure arrangement of the KBA microscope is rather reasonable, and can be considered as theoretical evidence in the design and manufacture of KBA microscopes.

Rolling bearings are an important part of rotary machines. They are used most widely in various mechanical sectors, which are among the most vulnerable components in machines. This paper uses CKF algorithm to compile a signal analysis system, analyses the vibration signal of the rolling bearing, extracts fault features, and realizes fault diagnosis. In order to improve the estimation accuracy of bearing fault diagnosis under nonlinear model, a nonlinear model of bearing fault diagnosis based on quaternion and low-accuracy high-noise sensors is established, and the attitude estimation has performed using the culture Kalman filter (CKF) algorithm. The sensor data comparison shows that the use of the volumetric Kalman filter algorithm can effectively improve the estimation accuracy of bearing fault diagnosis and stability. In this paper, the measured vibration signals of several groups of rolling bearings are analysed, and the signal characteristic frequency has extracted. The results show that using the analysis software designed in this paper, several typical faults of rolling bearings can be correctly identified.

In this paper we study the modified equal width-Burgers equation, which describes long wave propagation in nonlinear media with dispersion and dissipation. Using the Lie symmetry method in conjunction with the ( G' / G )− expansion method we construct its travelling wave solutions. Also, we determine the conservation laws by invoking the new conservation theorem due to Ibragimov. As a result we obtain energy and linear momentum conservation laws.

Networks play an important role in electrical and electronic engineering. It depends on what area of electrical and electronic engineering, for example there is a lot more abstract mathematics in communication theory and signal processing and networking etc. Networks involve nodes communicating with each other. Graph theory has found a considerable use in this area of research. A topological index is a real number associated with chemical constitution purporting for correlation of chemical networks with various physical properties, chemical reactivity. The concept of hyper Zagreb index, first multiple Zagreb index, second multiple Zagreb index and Zagreb polynomials was established in chemical graph theory based on vertex degrees. In this paper, we extend this study to interconnection networks and derive analytical closed results of hyper Zagreb index, first multiple Zagreb index, second multiple Zagreb index, Zagreb polynomials and redefined Zagreb indices for block shift network ( BSN − 1) and ( BSN − 2), hierarchical hypercube ( HHC − 1) and ( HHC − 2).

The elastic properties and plane acoustic velocity of double perovskite Sr 2 CaMoO 6 and Sr 2 CaWO 6 are investigated with the plane wave pseuedopotential method based on the first-principles density functional theory within the local density approximate (LDA) and the generalized gradient approximation (GGA). The calculations indicate that Sr 2 CaMoO 6 and Sr 2 CaWO 6 respectively have the the Mo-O and W-O stable octahedral structure. The bulk modulus B , shear modulus G , Young’s modulus E , Poisson’s ratio ν and Debye temperature were calculated based on the elastic constants. The three dimensional plane acoustic velocities and their projection are in calculated for each direction by solving the Christoffel’s equation systematically based on the theory of acoustic waves in anisotropic solids, the result shows of anisotropy of lattice vibration for Sr 2 CaMoO 6 is stronger than Sr 2 CaWO 6 .

In the networking designing phase, the network needs to be built according to certain indicators to ensure that the network has the ideal functions and can work smoothly. From a modeling perspective, each site in the network is represented by a vertex, channels between sites are represented by edges, and thus the entire network can be denoted as a graph. Problems in the network can be transformed into corresponding graph problems. In particular, the feasibility of data transmission can be transformed into the existence of fractional factors in network graph. This note gives an independent set neighborhood union condition for the existence of fractional factors in a special setting, and shows that the neighborhood union condition is sharp.

Ontology is widely used in information retrieval, image processing and other various disciplines. This article discusses how to use machine learning approach to solve the most essential similarity calculation problem in multi-dividing ontology setting. The ontology function is regarded as a combination of several weak ontology functions, and the optimal ontology function is obtained by an iterative algorithm. In addition, the performance of the algorithm is analyzed from a theoretical point of view by statistical methods, and several results are obtained.

Vacuumcircuit breaker (VCB) is one of the important elements in the power grid that can control and protect the system. The diagnosis of the vacuum arc images in VCBs is helpful to the study on their breaking performance. But up to now, there are few reports on the macro-particle motion trajectories in the arc. As the macro-particles in the arc are flowing, the particle image velocimetry (PIV) can be grafted into the vacuum arc image processing. In this paper, the power frequency vacuum arc (peak is 6.9kA) was used as the treatment object, geometric characteristics of the vacuum arc shape using digital image processing technology were extracted, and the two dimensional motion trajectory and velocity distribution of the arc macro particles in different arc combustion stages were obtained based on 2D-PIV technology. Three stages were analyzed. In the rapid diffusion stage, the collision of the macro-particles is very intense in the anode region, and they spray along the anode surface. In the stable combustion stage, the velocity of the particles near the anode is small, and there is a smaller shrink. And finally in the extinction stage, their motion trajectories are in a state of rotation, near the anode and cathode are in a state of contraction.

Escalators are now more and more widely used around the world. As escalator accidents occur from time to time, it is very important to analyze the structure and reliability of escalators. This paper studies the structure and reliability analysis methods of typical escalators. By applying parametric analysis methods, the efficiency and accuracy of escalator structure analysis are greatly improved. Because the failure of each structural member of the escalator truss system is dependent, this paper applies the dependent failure reliability modeling method and analyzes the reliability of the escalator truss system. The results show that the reliability analysis method of the truss system after considering the dependent failure is more reasonable. The above research work has certain reference significance for the design and analysis of escalators.

Based on the Sino-foreign petroleum cooperation project, the benefit evaluation algorithm of real economy based on big data analysis is proposed. The investment payback period, net present value, internal rate of return, discounted profit after investment and option value are selected as the benefit evaluation indicators of the real economy. The benchmark yield, discount rate and oil option parameters are defined as the benefits evaluation parameters of the real economy. Through the Delphi method and the analytic hierarchy process, the weight of each factor is specified. The method of expert independent scoring is used to construct the judgment matrix, and the consistency check is performed on the sort. The feature quantity matrix of the evaluation indicator is established to perform dimensionless processing on the original data. The project’s economic benefit indicators are divided into positive indicators of “ideal economic benefits” and negative indicators of “negative economic benefits”, the grey correlations are calculated, and real economic benefits are assessed. The results of project example analysis show that the algorithm not only realizes the whole life cycle management of overseas oil and gas cooperation projects, but also conducts tracking and evaluation of project implementation and economic benefits during the implementation process, and conducts sensitivity analysis on key indicators, that provides effective decision support for managers.

The measurement of the agricultural economic cycle and its synergy analysis are of great significance for the formulation of agricultural macroeconomic policies. When the traditional methods are used to analyze the main factors affecting the synergy of agricultural economic cycle fluctuations, almost all of them use the correlation coefficient or the degree of agreement to express the degree of economic cycle synergy. It is impossible to accurately evaluate the degree of synergy of economic cycle fluctuations. To solve this problem, a quantitative calculation model of agricultural economic cycle synergy evaluation based on the ant colony algorithm is proposed. On the basis of the collected monthly data of agricultural economic operation indicators, a prosperity index that comprehensively reflects the development of agricultural economy is constructed. The law of economic prosperity cycle fluctuation is analyzed according to economic prosperity index, and HP filtering is utilized to decompose the trend fluctuations of the economic time series of various industries and obtain the fluctuation components. The ant colony algorithm is utilized to optimize the spearman correlation analysis method, and the correlation analysis of the wave components is carried out. The Fisher-z conversion is performed on the optimal Spearman correlation coefficient obtained by the optimization. The transformed results represent the degree of economic cycle synergy, considering the geographical distance, economic space spillover, fiscal policy synergy, regional income gap and geographical neighbors, a quantitative calculation model for agricultural economic cycle synergy evaluation is established. The results show that the agricultural economic cycle has a certain spatial correlation, and will expand the agricultural economic fluctuations and form the cycle synergy through the periodic space overflow.

The traditional RSA information encryption algorithm uses one-dimensional chaotic equations to generate pseudo-random sequences that meet the encryption requirements. This encryption method is too simple and the security performance is poor. A multi-level encryption algorithm for user-related information across social networks is proposed, and a user association model across social networks is constructed to obtain user-related information across social networks. This multi-level chaotic encryption algorithm based on neural network is used to select three different chaotic mapping models based on user-related information, and a multi-level chaotic encryption algorithm is designed. According to the characteristics of error sensitivity of chaotic system, the neural network is used to inversely propagate the error. A chaotic encryption algorithm that implements multi-level encryption of user-related information across social networks is optimized. The experimental results show that the average rate for which the proposed algorithm correctly identified the user-related information across social networks was 97.6%, the highest frequency of average character distribution probability in cipher text was 0.021, and the average time for encryption was 18.45 Mbps. The average time for decryption was 21.90Mbps.

The traditional extended Kalman algorithm for multi-target tracking in the field of intelligent transportation does not consider the occlusion problem of the multi-target tracking process, and has the disadvantage of low multi-target tracking accuracy. A multi-target tracking algorithm using wireless sensors in an intelligent transportation system is proposed. Based on the dynamic clustering structure, the measurement results of each sensor are the superimposed results of sound signals and environmental noise from multiple targets. During the tracking process, each target corresponds to a particle filter. When the target spacing is relatively close to each other, each master node realizes distributed multi-target tracking through information exchange. At the same time, it is also necessary to consider the overlap between adjacent frames. Since the moving target speed is too fast, the target occlusion has the least influence on the tracking accuracy, and can accurately track multiple targets. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has a target tracking error of 0.5 m to 1 m, and the tracking result has high precision.

At present, the accuracy of real-time moving video image recognition methods are poor. Also energy consumption is high and fault tolerance is not ideal. Consequently this paper proposes a method of moving video image recognition based on BP neural networks. The moving video image is divided into two parts: the key content and the background by binary gray image. By collecting training cubes. The D-SFA algorithm is used to extract moving video image features and to construct feature representation. The image features are extracted by collecting training cubes. The BP neural network is constructed to get the error function. The error signal is returned continuously along the original path. By modifying the weights of neurons in each layer, the weights propagate to the input layer step by step, and then propagates forward. The two processes are repeated to minimize the error signal. The result of image feature extraction is regarded as the input of BP neural network, and the result of moving video image recognition is output. And fault tolerance in real-time is better than the current method. Also the recognition energy consumption is low, and our method is more practical.

Aiming at the excellent descriptive ability of SURF operator for local features of images, except for the shortcoming of global feature description ability, a compressed sensing image restoration algorithm based on improved SURF operator is proposed. The SURF feature vector set of the image is extracted, and the vector set data is reduced into a single high-dimensional feature vector by using a histogram algorithm, and then the image HSV color histogram is extracted.MSA image decomposition algorithm is used to obtain sparse representation of image feature vectors. Total variation curvature diffusion method and Bayesian weighting method perform image restoration for data smoothing feature and local similarity feature of texture part respectively. A compressed sensing image restoration model is obtained by using Schatten-p norm, and image color supplement is performed on the model. The compressed sensing image is iteratively solved by alternating optimization method, and the compressed sensing image is restored. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has good restoration performance, and the restored image has finer edge and texture structure and better visual effect.

The current game theory model method cannot accurately optimize the load control of smart grid, resulting in the problem of high load energy consumption when the smart grid is running. To address this problem, a load optimal control algorithm for smart grid based on demand response in different scenarios is proposed in this paper. The demand response of smart grid under different scenarios is described. Onthis basis, the load rate and actual load of smart grid are calculated by using the rated load of electrical appliances. The load classification of smart grid and the main factors affecting the load of smart grid are analyzed to complete the load distribution of smart grid. According to the evaluation function of smart grid, the number of load clusters is adjusted to calculate the load change rate. The trend of load curve of smart grid is analyzed to realize optimal load control of smart grid under different scenarios. The experimental results show that the proposed method has better control performance and higher accuracy through load control of smart grid.

In order to recognize faces, face recognition methods need to be studied. When a face is identified by the current method, the image denoising effect is poor, the face image recognition result thus has error, the time used to recognize the face image is long, the signal to noise ratio, the recognition result and the recognition efficiency are low. Based on the GA-BP neural network algorithm, a face recognition method is proposed. A mixed denoising model of face images is constructed by combining dictionary based sparse representation with non-local similarity. The principal component analysis method is used to extract the feature of the face image after denoising and staining the eigenvector of the face image. The GA-BP neural network algorithm is used to optimize the initial weights and thresholds so as to achieve the optimal value. The feature vectors of face images are ted into the genetic neural network to complete face recognition. Experimental results show that the proposed method has high signal-to-noise ratio, accuracy and recognition efficiency.

When the traditional anchor aided location algorithm is used to select the mobile beacon path in the sensor network, there is no analysis of the energy imbalance of nodes in non-dense conditions, the optimal network node cannot be selected, and the selection error of the optimal path of the beacon is larger. A path selection algorithm for mobile beacons in a sensor network under non-dense distribution is proposed. Using the mobile beacon based wireless sensor network location algorithm, the weighted centroid algorithm and the extended Kalman filter (EKF) are used to obtain the accurate location results of the unknown nodes around the mobile beacon in the sensor network under non-dense distribution condition. The optimal node energy partition of the unknown node is obtained by the chaotic differential evolution method, and the optimal location of the optimal energy node in the wireless sensor network is calculated using the dynamic escape particle swarm optimization method, and the optimal beacon path is extracted. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can enhance the clustering performance of the optimal node in the wireless sensor network and has a better performance of dynamic node selection in wireless sensor network, and the convergence speed is faster and the operation time is shorter.

In order to accurately detect the fuzzy anomaly data existing in big data networks, it is necessary to study the localization and recognition algorithm. The current algorithms have problems related to poor noise reduction, low recognition efficiency, high energy consumption and low accuracy. A novel localization and recognition algorithm for fuzzy anomaly data in big data networks is proposed. The multi-wavelet denoising method is used to remove the noise signals existing in the network. The k-means algorithm is utilized for network clustering, and the association mode between nodes and the unitary linearity regression model is adopted to eliminate spatially and temporally redundant data that exist in big data networks. The similarity anomaly detection method based on multi-feature aggregation identifies fuzzy anomaly data existing in big data networks, establishes an anomaly data localization model, and completes the localization and recognition of fuzzy anomaly data. Experimental results show that the proposed method has good noise reduction, high recognition efficiency, low energy consumption and high accuracy of localization and recognition.

An abrupt increase in urban road traffic flow caused by incidental congestion is considered. The residual traffic capacity varies in different lanes after an accident, and the influence of accident duration on traffic flow is taken into account. The swallowtail catastrophe model was built based on catastrophe theory. The critical state of traffic congestion under incidental congestion was analyzed using this model, and a traffic flow control scheme is proposed with the goal of maximizing the traffic capacity. Finally, the operational state of traffic flow under different scenarios is analyzed through case study and the feasibility of the model is validated.

Distribution network reconfiguration is a very complex and large-scale combinatorial optimization problem. In network reconfiguration, whether an effective solution can be obtained is a key issue. Aiming at the problems in network reconstruction by traditional algorithm, such as long time required, more times of power flow calculation and high network loss, a network optimization design algorithm based on improved ant colony algorithm for high voltage power distribution network is proposed. After analyzing the operating characteristics of the high voltage power distribution network, the network topology of the high voltage power distribution network is described by constructing a hierarchical variable-structure distribution network model. A mathematical model of distribution network reconstruction considering the opportunity constraint with the minimum network loss as the objective function is established. The power flow distribution is calculated by using the pre-push back-generation method combined with the hierarchical structure of the distribution network. The maximum and minimum ant colony algorithm is introduced to improve the pheromone updating method of the traditional ant colony algorithm, and the search range is expanded, so that the algorithm can jump out of the local optimization trap to realize the accurate solution of the power distribution network reconstruction model. The experimental results show that compared with the current network reconstruction algorithm, the proposed algorithm requires less time for convergence, less power flow calculation, and lower network loss.

In the traditional finite element analysis method, when simulating the feasibility of aseismic structure design of long-span bridges, only finite element analysis is carried out on the bridge structure without considering the aseismic situation of the aseismic structure of the bridge under different schemes, which leads to one-sidedness of the simulation results. Therefore, a new simulation method for the feasibility study of seismic design of long-span bridges is proposed in this paper. 5 seismic isolation schemes for long-span bridge structures are designed. The lock-up devices and liquid viscous dampers are deployed in bridge structure. Numerical simulation of bridge structure is carried out by establishing calculation model and improved hierarchical Kerr spring model. The responses of long-span bridges under seismic loading for 5 seismic isolation schemes are analyzed. On this basis, the seismic performance of long-span bridges is tested by using the multi-point excitation motion equation, the response power spectrum and the structural dynamic reliability analysis based on the first transcendental failure criterion. Experimental results show that all the five seismic isolation schemes are feasible, and the seismic effect of the schemes 4 and 5 is the strongest. The maximum horizontal thrust of pier top is 6.27E+062, 0.50E+07 and 6.00E+06, 2.78E+07, respectively. The proposed method can be used to simulate the seismic response of long-span bridges.

The current building’s energy supply chain model has the characteristics of high complexity, time-consuming, poor accuracy, and high pollution coefficient. In this paper, a renewable building’s energy supply chain model based on LCA is proposed. Based on the definition of planned supply chain, procurement, construction and delivery process, the operation reference model of renewable green building’s energy supply chain is analyzed. According to the analysis of LCA, the life cycle stage set of renewable green building’s energy supply chain is obtained. A renewable green building’s energy supply chain model with economic and low-carbon comprehensive objectives is obtained by combining the economic goal-oriented model with the low-carbon goal-oriented model and introducing the life cycle stage set. The experimental results show that the modeling complexity of the model is low and the time-consuming is less. The model fits the actual situation well. The pollution coefficient of the model is smaller than that of the current model. It is practical and provides technical reference for the field of green building.

A kind of carbon fabric/epoxy composite was successfully prepared with carbon fiber fabric as reinforced phase and epoxy resin as binder phase, then the nano-TiO 2 and a hybrid system of TiO 2 /MWNTs was added into the carbon fabric/ epoxy composite matrix respectively to prepare a kind of nano-composite. The friction and wear properties of CF/EP composites under different load conditions have been studied in this article, during the study the effects of filler types and contents on the tribological properties were researched, at last the worn surfaces were investigated and the abrasion mechanism was discussed. The results showed that: whether filling the nano-TiO 2 alone or mixing the TiO 2 /MWNTs, it was able to achieve a good effect on decreasing friction and reducing wear, and the optimum addition ratio of the nano-TiO 2 particles was 3.0% , meanwhile 3.0% of nano-TiO 2 and 0.4% of MWNTs could cooperate with each other in their dimension, and could show a synergistic effect on modifying the tribological properties of CF/EP composites, the coefficient of friction of the modified composites decreased by 20% and the wear life increased by more than 140% compared with that of pristine composite materials, in the process of friction and wear, the wear form of the composites materials varied from brittle rupture to abrasive wear gradually.

The traditional uniform distribution algorithm does not filter the image data when extracting the approximate features of text-image data under the event, so the similarity between the image data and the text is low, which leads to low accuracy of the algorithm. This paper proposes a text-image feature mapping algorithm based on transfer learning. The existing data is filtered by ‘clustering technology’ to obtain similar data with the target data. The significant text features are calculated through the latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) model and information gain based on Gibbs sampling. Bag of visual word (BOVW) model and Naive Bayesian method are used to model image data. With the help of the text-image co-occurrence data in the same event, the text feature distribution is mapped to the image feature space, and the feature distribution of image data under the same event is approximated. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can obtain the feature distribution of image data under different events, and the average cosine similarity is as high as 92%, the average dispersion is as low as 0.06%, and the accuracy of the algorithm is high.

Aiming at the low recognition rate, low recognition efficiency, poor anti-interference and high missing detection rate of current traffic sign recognition methods, a fast recognition algorithm based on SURF for static traffic sign information of highway is proposed. The expansion of the digital morphological method is used to connect the cracks in the traffic sign. Traffic sign images are corroded according to the corrosion, and the connected areas are contracted or refined. Regions of interest are detected by region filling. According to the result of traffic sign image processing, the scale of traffic sign image is normalized by bilinear interpolation method, and the SURF feature points of traffic sign image are extracted. The FLANN algorithm is used to realize feature point matching, and the threshold is set to determine the best matching point. The matching result is output and the traffic sign information is recognized. Experimental results show that the algorithm has high recognition rate and recognition efficiency, strong anti-interference, and can control the rate of missing detection in a certain range.

One of the main solutions to the issue of global warming and greenhouse gas emission caused by burning fossil fuels is storing energy in an efficient way. In this work, the detailed melting process of RT-35 as a phase change material (PCM) inside a cylindrical latent heat thermal energy storage (TES) system is investigated both numerically and experimentally. To achieve this aim, an experimental setup comprising of a transparent vertical cylindrical enclosure as a latent heat TES system, a constant temperature bath, and a temperature regulator is built. Moreover, a numerical model using COMSOL multiphysics is developed to simulate the melting process and provide a more detailed information on the flow and thermal fields. The model is able to provide the temperature and velocity fields, heat transfer behaviour, melting fraction, and the trend of solid-liquid interface at different time intervals. To validate the numerical model, a comparison between melting fraction and solid-liquid interfaces of the numerical model and experimental work is conducted which shows a good agreement between experimental and numerical results.

PEMFC needs to be maintained at an appropriate temperature and humidity in a rapidly changing environment for automobile applications. In this study, a pseudo-multi-dimensional dynamic model for predicting the heat and mass transfer performance of a plate-and-frame membrane humidifier for PEMFC vehicles is developed. Based on the developed model, the variations in the temperature and relative humidity at the dry air outlet are investigated according to the air flow acceleration. Moreover, the dynamic response is analyzed as a function of the amplitude and period of the sinusoidal air flow rate at actual operating conditions. The effects of heat transfer on the dynamic response are more dominant than those of mass transfer. The settling time of the temperature and relative humidity at the dry air outlet decrease with the increase in air flow acceleration. In addition, the variations in the temperature and relative humidity at the dry air outlet increase with the increases in the amplitude and period of the sinusoidal air flow rate.

The paper presents research focused on the efficiency improvement of inorganic flexible thin-film solar cells, using energy converting layers. The light capture enhancement was achieved through the introduction of layers based on rare-earth elements, as top coatings on the amorphous silicon photovoltaic structures. Such luminescent layers are converting high-energy photons into low-energy ones, which are more efficient in photovoltaic conversion of the investigated solar cells. Towards this goal, powders consisting rare-earth elements were applied as active particles in polymer layer. For practical experiments, the screen-printing method, as a cheap, reliable and industrially-ready technology was used for layers deposition. For the experiments two compositions were selected: Sr4Al14O25: Eu,Dy (BGL-300M) and SrAl2O4: Eu,Dy (G-300M). These materials are characterized by excellent thermal and optical stability and interesting luminescent properties (they absorb ultraviolet and emit in the visible range). For the verification of investigated materials and methods, various compositions of powders and proportions were tested and analyzed.

Latent heat storage represents a promising technique to achieve net zero energy buildings. This work investigates the behaviour of phase change material (PCM) inside a rectangular enclosure, which represents the geometry of a latent heat storage system. The left side of the unit is exposed to a constant temperature ( T h ), while the other three walls are exposed to convection heat transfer boundary condition [ h = 5, 10, and 15 W/(m 2 K)] and different ambient temperatures ( T ∞ = 297 ◦ and 307 ◦ K). The ambient temperatures were selected to be at/above the melting temperature of the studied PCM (coconut oil). To study the melting process of the PCM, the continuity, Navier-Stokes and energy equation were used. The Navier-Stokes equations were modified using the Carman-Kozeny relation. The finite element method was utilized to produce numerical results. The results are presented in terms of flow and thermal fields, Nusselt number ( Nu ), and the melt fraction ( MF ) of the PCM. The results show that, when T ∞ = T m , the melting rate of the PCM slows down with increasing the convection heat transfer coefficient. While the melting rate accelerates with increasing the convection heat transfer coefficient when T ∞ > T m .
