Metal coordination in bis(metiamide)bis(isothiocyanato)cobalt(II) by powder X-ray diffraction

Abstract
Cation location in Co(Met)2(NCS)2 has been studied by X-ray powder diffraction data, using a modification of structure solution based on the use of indexed intensities reported by Marti, Soria and Cano (1977), where calculated non-observed intensities were estimated using the LAZY-PULVERIX program. Comparison of the powder patterns for this complex with those calculated for Ni(Met)2(NCS)2 indicates that these complexes are probably isotypics. The Co–S and Co–N bond lengths are consistent with the values reported in the literature.
