Splitpositionen für Alkalimetallkationen in den Thioindaten MIn5S8 (M = K, Rb, Cs)?
Abstract
The intensive yellow and transparent single crystals of the ternary thioindates MIn5S8 (M = K, Rb, Cs) crystallize isotypically in the monoclinic space group C2/m (Z = 2). They are characterized by a three-dimensional network of InS6-octahedra forming parallel channels filled completely with M+-ions. The thermal parameters of the latter ones indicate a peculiar pseudo-anisotropy which can be interpreted in terms of split-positions. Due to the decreasing size of the alkali metal cation the positional splitting of the M+-ions however is increasing in the sequence CsIn5S8, RbIn5S8, KIn5S8, thus making unsuccessful attempts to prepare NaIn5S8 understandable.
