Abstract

The structure of naphtho[2,1-c]cinnoline has been determined by the application of two-dimensional minimum residual techniques. The final values for the residuals in the two refined projections are 0.12 and 0.10. The space group is Fdd2 with unit-cell dimensions a = 40.8 Å, b = 10.8 Å, c = 10.8 Å. There are 16 molecules in the unit cell. The whole molecule is distorted by the sterichindrance effect between adjacent, non-bonded atoms within the same molecule.
