Alpha Decay Half Lives of 148Gd 150Gd and 146Sm

Summary

The alpha half lives and energies of 148Gd, 150Gd, and 148Sm are found to be:

148Gd 97.5 ± 6.5 yrs. 3.17 ± .02 MeV

150Gd 1.78 ± (.08) • 106 yrs. 2.7 ± .10 MeV

148Sm 1.026 ± (.048) • 108 yrs. 2.55 ± .03 MeV

The half life of 148Sm is long enough so that it might be as high as 10-15 of normal Sm.
