Abstract

Service robots have a very high potential for the future and are already today employed in a number of important applications. For exploiting this potential successfully progress has to be made in many disciplines. This article focuses on robot control architectures in hardware and software. Taking today existing robots as examples typical current control architectures are presented and the contribution of the Grand Challenges in Computer Science to their further development is discussed.

Zusammenfassung

Service-Roboter haben ein sehr großes Potential für die Zukunft und werden heute schon in einer Vielzahl von wichtigen Anwendungen eingesetzt. Um dieses Potential erfolgreich zu nutzen, sind Fortschritte in vielen Disziplinen erforderlich. Dieser Artikel konzentriert sich auf Roboter-Kontrollarchitekturen in Hardware und Software. Am Beispiel heute existierender Roboter werden typische aktuelle Kontrollarchitekturen vorgestellt, und der Beitrag der Grand Challenges in Technischer Informatik zu ihrer weiteren Entwicklung wird diskutiert.
