1,3-Diisopropyl-4,5-dimethylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (2) is obtained from 2,3-dihydro-1,3- diisopropyl-4,5-dimethylimidazol-2-ylidene (1) and HBF4 • Et 2O; the X-ray structure of 2 is reported.
