Dear readers
Dear readers
I am particularly pleased to present this double issue to you today. I would like to thank the de Gruyter publishing house for their flexibility and understanding for this exception. In this way, we want to give the 56th Metallography Conference a special visibility by immediately giving as many conference contributions as possible a special, international visibility. This is because this meeting in Saarbrücken, as the German-American Metallography Meeting, also inaugurates the official partnership with the International Metallographic Society (IMS) and thus the special expertise of the German- and English-speaking metallography community worldwide. Unfortunately, we were not able to include in this issue all of the papers that were submitted by the deadline. Therefore, the October and November issues of PM will also be dedicated to these conference contributions. At the same time, this double issue will meet another important request of our community: From October onwards, Practical Metallography will be published on time in the first half of each month. We look forward to your feedback, and I would like to thank our editorial team for their great commitment.
I wish you an exciting reading Yours
