Two Decades of Software Agent Platform Engineering – Part 3

Abstract
Software agent platforms have enjoyed a broad interest in the last 20 years from many parts of computer science research and industry. In the previous sections of this survey we discussed the impact of platform design on agent systems and proposed a categorization of agents and their platforms, identifying intelligent agents, mobile agents, and simulation agents as the main branches of agent technology.
This article is the last part of a three-part survey on agent platform technology. We now present the numbers of our survey on platforms. Also, we comment on recent trends in software engineering.
