Politeness phenomena across Chinese genres

    Jia Qiu is a lecturer in the School of Foreign Languages at Jiaxing University. Her research interests lie primarily in the field of pragmatics, with a focus on interpersonal pragmatics. She has published a number of articles on (im)politeness in Chinese key journals, including “A memetic account of politeness as social practice” (Foreign Language Education, 2019), “Integration and transcendence: A commentary on the theory of Politeness as Social Practice” (Foreign Language Learning Theory and Practice, 2018, co-author) and “The regional variation of contemporary Chinese politeness: A case study of apology” (Foreign Languages Research, 2019, co-author).
