    Jan Tuckermann studied Biology in Karlsruhe, Germany, and obtained his PhD at the German Cancer Research Centre in Heidelberg, Germany. He was appointed as a Junior Group leader at the Leibniz Institute for Age Research in Jena, Germany. On April 1, 2012 he becomes the Department Chair of the Institute for General Zoology and Endocrinology at the University of Ulm, Germany.
