Tasso R.M. Sales
Tasso R.M. Sales is currently the Chief Technology Officer at RPC Photonics, a leading manufacturer of micro-optical elements in Rochester, NY, USA. He received his BSc and MSc degrees in Physics from UFPE, Brazil, and this PhD in Optics from the Institute of Optics at the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, USA. Since joining RPC Photonics in 1997 he has been working on the design and fabrication of refractive and diffractive elements for beam shaping and light control applications. He has relished the opportunity to work on a variety of topics summarized in dozens of publications, patents, and conference presentations, ranging from statistical mechanics of complex systems to optical super-resolution through display screens and non-linear optics. His current interests include pushing the limits of lithographic fabrication; design, modeling, and production of engineered diffusers; microlens arrays; optical vortices; photography; and soccer (of course).
