Das Pixre-Poem in Antiphellos

Abstract
„Wir wissen trügenden Schein in Fülle zu sagen, Dem Wirklichen ähnlich, Wir wissen aber auch, wenn es uns beliebt, Wahres zu künden.“ (Hesiod, Theogonie v. 27f. nach Walter Marg)
Mitten im heutigen Kaş, dem antiken Antiphellos, erhebt sich einer der typisch lykischen Grabbauten: ein ‚Hyposorion-Sarkophag‘, d. h. ein schlankes Grabhaus mit Spitzbogendach, das auf einen kubischen Unterbau (Hyposorion) gesetzt ist. Das „obere Grabldquo; war, wie andere Grabinschriften zeigen (TL 57 in Antiphellos selbst, TL 94 in Myra, TL 118 in Limyra und N 306 in Çağman), dem Erbauer und seiner Ehefrau vorbehalten, die im Frontgiebel dargestellt sind: ein bärtiger, auf einen Stab gestützter Mann vor einer sitzenden Frau.
