Abstract

Edition of a tiny fragment that sheds new light on the charges leveled against C. Vibius Maximus, Prefect of Egypt under Trajan in AD 103–107. Vibius was accused of maladministration, of interfering in the appointment of Alexandrian magistracies as well as in Alexandrian institutions (such as the ephebeia), and of having an improper affair with a young boy. It is tempting to recognize a reference to the latter in our fragment.
