About this book
The study addresses some of the best-known fictive inscriptions in the German courtly literature of the High Middle Ages. It employs such "texts within the text," to describe the breadth of conceptual ideas of communication, control, and written poetic expression in the works of 13th century authors, such as Hartmann von Aue, Wirnt von Grafenberg, and Wolfram von Eschenbach.
