This study examines the connections between vernacular and Latin fables and proverbs in the late Middle Ages. It investigates a Latin commentary on the fables of the Anonymus Neveleti that includes German rhyming couplet epimythia, and was disseminated in scholastic circles. The text is made accessible for the first time in a published edition.
