Several have been identified, and in this index ‘AF’ was Archibald Farmer,’ B.’ ‘Bee’ or ‘Beatrice’ was probably Beatrice Stiff, Dennis was Dennis Vine (of Boosey & Hawkes), Geoff was Geoffrey Powell, ‘Hoppy’ was Mrs Hopkins, June was Francis Todd, Max and Margaret were Max and Margaret Walker and ‘Reggie’ was Reggie Stephens. However, we have been defeated by a number of examples, in particular ‘Clippie’, ‘Mary’, ‘Percy’, ‘Thèrese’, ‘Trevor’, ‘Wilf ’ and ‘Little Willie’, and they are indexed under these names below.
