    did a technical apprenticeship as materials tester (physics) from 1970 to 1972 at the SLV Munich. After training as a metallographer from 1972 to 1974 at the Technical College of the Lette Association in Berlin, she worked from 1974 to 1976 as a metallographer at SLV Munich and from 1976 to 1982 at MAN Munich, New Technology. In 1982 she joined SLV again as a metallographer and was head of the metallography laboratory at SLV Munich from 1998 to 2019.

Abstract

Failures of stainless and heat-resistant austenitic CrNi steels frequently occur in practice due to incorrect material selection, improper processing or unforeseeable factors under operating conditions.

Selected examples will be used to illustrate various of these factors influencing the development of failure.

Kurzfassung

An nichtrostenden und hitzebeständigen austenitischen CrNi-Stählen treten in der Praxis häufig Schadensfälle durch falsche Werkstoffauswahl, unsachgemäße Verarbeitung oder unvorhersehbare Faktoren unter Betriebsbedingungen auf.

An ausgewählten Beispielen sollen verschiedene dieser Einflussfaktoren auf die Schadensentstehung gezeigt werden.
